  • Damn! I order a jacket from them with a 10% student discount just a couple of days ago. If this stacks could have got 25% off. Does anyone if this code stacks with other codes, or not?

Edit: Nvm. Unstackable. One can only use one code at a time.

What do you mean about currency conversion to save more - doesn't ASOS charge in AU?

I bought a $150 leather jacket (genuine) a couple of weeks ago. Really happy with purchase.
Will try claim price protection on my credit card. $22 difference.

If you choose to pay in AUD, they will use their conversion rates from GBP (and skim a little off the top). Cheaper to pay in GBP and let your bank do the conversion.

      • OK cool, thanks, didnt know that was their native currency. My credit card has no conversion fee (plus 2 years price protection), so that works well.

        • Which credit card do yoy have? What's the annual fee, the fee for the insurance/price protection, and minimum drop to claim?

        • @sky blu: Coles Mastercard. I think the annual fee is $99 (for Platinum, earns 4x points) but there is also a $0 fee one.

Minimum price drop is $10 (and Ive claimed quite a few shirts etc that have dropped exactly $10) and within 2 years from same retailer.

Price protection (and other benefits) fee is 1% of outstanding monthly amount - so I generally pay my card off in full each month so 1% of $0 = $0 fee.
Occasionally if my card is not fully paid off on the day, I pay a couple of dollars.

To date, I have claimed and been paid out over $600 in price protection claims so am far, far ahead of the monthly/yearly fees.

In the past hour I have made 4 additional claims totalling $324 but 3 of those were from MASTERS purchases so not sure if they will pay out given the way Masters closed down.
The 4th claim today is $23 for my new ASOS leather jacket that Ive not even worn yet as QLD is too hot right now :)

I mentioned points in the top line above - my latest Flybuys statement says in the past year I have claimed $1,070 of free groceries at Coles ($10 per time at checkout - usually twice a week).

Sorry for getting off-topic - back to this deal Im very happy with my first ASOS purchase so now thinking what else can I buy for 15% off !

        • @systmworks: Coles Rewards Mastercard's annual fee is $89. The earn rate is 2 points per $1. Can you provide a link to a "4x" earn rate?

Price protection (and other benefits) fee is 1% of outstanding monthly amount - so I generally pay my card off in full each month so 1% of $0 = $0 fee.
Occasionally if my card is not fully paid off on the day, I pay a couple of dollars.

Do you mean you usually pay the full amount prior to the statement date? Otherwise the 1% price protection fee is applicable regardless.

my latest Flybuys statement says in the past year I have claimed $1,070 of free groceries at Coles ($10 per time at checkout - usually twice a week).

It costs 2,000 Flybuys points to get $10 off at Coles. If you claimed $1,070 at Coles in the past year it means you have had to accumulate 214,000 Flybuys points. If that was all from real $$$ then the groceries weren't so "free", so to speak.

        • @sky blu: The 4x rate I mentioned is 4x the rate of the $0 annual fee card.
2 points per $1 instead of 1 point per $2.

Yes to paying off the balance before each month statement date to avoiding the price protection fee.

I consider the $1000 groceries as free as I took them home but didn't pay $$ for them.
Yes I had to accumulate points, but those points were from regular everyday spending that I would have still done even if there were no points earned. The points, and thus the free groceries, are just a bonus side effect.

          @sky blu:

214,000 points at 2 points per dollar is $107,000 a year spend?

        • @systmworks: @JoelWilliam queried if you spent $107,000 in the past year to accumulate 214,000 points in order to be able to use $1,070 at Coles.

        • @JoelWilliam
Not that much, heaps of bonus offers like 10x points on certain spends etc.

      • Also try Russian rubles (RUB). That usually works out even cheaper for me than GBP.

    • That's some avant-garde fashion right there.

  • Champion, just grabbed a couple of things I'd be eyeing off for a while. Down $80 :(
