David Attenborough's Frozen Planet The Complete Series Blu-ray £9.41 (~AUD $16) Delivered @ Amazon UK

1200

Great deal on this fabulous documentary series.

Amazon's description:

Narrated by Sir David Attenborough and from the award-winning team behind Planet Earth & Blue Planet comes the ultimate portrait of the earth's Polar regions.

The Arctic and Antarctic remain the greatest wildernesses on Earth. The scale and beauty of the scenery and the sheer power of the elements – the weather, the ocean and the ice – is unmatched anywhere else on our planet. Yet these harsh environments are teeming with life: home to iconic animals from polar bears to emperor penguins and from killer whales to wandering albatrosses.

Using the latest camera technology to film on land, from the air, underwater and below the ice caps, Frozen Planet follows their fascinating lives throughout the seasons as they struggle to survive. With spectacular polar landscapes and amazing animal behaviour, often filmed for the first time, it captures the drama of an extreme natural world.

With both Poles under grave threat from climate change, this extraordinary series may be the last chance to witness these great wildernesses before they change forever.

Note: deal is back up but price has risen GBP0.75 so a bit over aud17 now.

Jokes aside, it's worth every penny.

  • What's up with Antarctica?

    • Watch and find out.

"Planet Earth The Collection" is only £5 more, £24.99 ($41.56) and includes the Blu Rays for not only Planet Earth II but also Planet Earth I as well (it was even cheaper at xmas). That's 7 Blu Ray disks in total.

If you are ordering multiple boxsets you may well find the removal of VAT more than offsets the postage and it's cheaper than this in reality.

      • Just got this collection as well as the Frozen Planet. Thanks!!

      • Do you know if that collection is actually Ultra HD?

        • Nope, straight Blu Ray - you'd need a special player etc/ for UHD.

        • Damn :( I have a Xbox One S and a 4k TV. I guess I'll wait until the Ultra HD version of the disc set comes out.

      • Thanks!!

Going to hold out as much as it kills me, have all his other sets in bluray if possible otherwise DVD. Supposedly the UHD Bluray will be out in March, that'd finally be the big visual title the format needs.

  • Thanks, OP.

Our Planet Earth II Blu-Ray series arrived from Amazon UK last week.

    • Why arnt you watching it free on BBC iPlayer, like an ozbargainer?

      • VPN doesn't work!

Do ppl still buy DVD/Blu Ray?

    • +2

People in Antartica have better Internet access than some Australians.

    • +3

DVD I wouldn't bother as streaming as often the same or better quality but Blu-Ray there is no comparison to streaming, even more-so now with UHD Blu-Ray. The internet in Australia won't catch up to UHD Blu-Ray for at least 20yrs at the current rate :(

      • +2

I dunno about that, UHD bitrate is a max of 108mbps, which I doubt they would be using… puts it in the range of Fibre to the H…. waitaminute.

        • Frankly even 50mbps seems out of reach at this point while they insist on clinging to their copper.

  • +1

Strange. I get a message that the item can't be sent to Australia.
    Does anyone know what's wrong?
Also, the price went up to £9.49

  • Looks like I'll finally need a Blu-ray player.
    Any good deals?

  • +1

I get a message that it cannot be shipped to AU

  • +1

Seems to be available shipped to Australia however the price has gone up 75 pence so now a bit over aud17 which is still a good price.

    • Yes. Deal is back up!

  • I'm also getting the 'can't ship to AU' message…

    • I just tried again - it seems ok but there was only 1 copy left. I'd try again quick sticks as they may be about to run out of stock.

  • They have stock and delivery to AU works now. Placed my order. Total, incl. delivery came to £10.13. So, will be under A$17.
    Thank you OP.

  • Why is it showing 11.91 GBP (20.51 AUD) for me (£8.33+£3.58 for delivery)? Anyone having the same issue?

    • +1

Looks like the deal is over.
