For those flying within Thailand:-
Low-cost airlines yesterday (30/2/17) announced to add 150 baht (~$A6) tax surcharge on their (domestic) tickets, effective this month (February).
This is due to "increased operations cost after the staggering jet fuel tax increase, from 20 satang to 4 baht, (that) became effective on Jan. 25."
"AirAsia, Nok Air and Lion Air have announced that they will include the surcharge in their ticket prices."
Wonder if this tax applies to the State-owned Thai Airways? bit of a kick in the guts to LCC's otherwise…
They only referred to LCC's. Maybe full service airlines can absorb it better in their fatter ticketing prices.
Have flow many times Syd - Bkk rtn with, and very impressed with Emirates 777 now A380, however arrives very late in Bkk. It will be about 4-5 am Sydney time by the time that you get to your hotel. Anything under $800 is a good price.
Flew with Thai a couple of times and not very impressed at all. I avoid Thai.
