Products From India

Hi Guys

Following ozbargain from last couple of years; big fan and always saved money on better deals

First Post: So Please Be Kind

After recent tie ups with China ( China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) - Austrade )

Products are really at best prices specially electronics from last couple of years From China

We all are buying direct from china through alibaba, aliexpress, geek, tinydealstore, banggood etc…

we save heaps but have to wait over 20-45 days to receive product

My Question:

what products you want to purchase from India directly from manufacturer???

JOKES APART NO ONE IS SHIPPING CURRY (ITS BEST WHEN ITS FRESHLY COOKED) :)

Thanks in advance for your input and time

    Clothes and textile. Every day wear clothes are cheaper in Bangladesh though (that's where Target and Kmart source their clothes from anyways). But India also is known for different specialized fabric and stitches.

    Terracotta is pretty cheap in India.

    Cane products are again pretty darn cheap and manufactured in India. Rice grains as well, but you get plenty of them from the Indian shops here.

    Some international products are cheaper in India as well. Original Levis jeans from Levis outlets, Rayban glasses etc.

    • Agree with above and would add leather goods, that I have seen in very good quality from India but with low prices.
      If you find a good source, let me know, I think I can find a place to sell them.

      • Sounds good..

          I love OPs really short 2-3 word answers. Thought this was a discussion topic. Are you just brainstorming us for your future import business venture? :)

        • @shadowarrior: Yes, I think this is marketing research.

          Well Thanks For An Idea Though!!

        • @PJC:

          No Marketing Research

          It was just a thought to find out what people think about origin of product..

      • Thanks; What specific product in leather??

  • Just love Parchinkari souvenirs from India - see comment. But not sure how in demand they will be here. Certainly beautiful and unique, cannot get easily here. Many arts/crafts with the Balinese feel sells well here, so who knows, if more people know of these …

    Some phones on flipkart and amazon.in are generally cheaper equivalent grey imports on kogan or dwi.

    Of course kogan/dwi come with some local warranty and ship to Australia.

    • thanks

      but warranty on those products is important;

      I believe thtz y big giants have advantage in this process

      • but warranty on those products is important;

        Under ACL, you have to provide warranty on all products.

        I believe thtz y big giants have advantage in this process

        It's not clear that warranty provisioning for electronics is drastically different to other products.

    Furniture. Half of the crap they sell in stores like Ishka and Schotts
    Emporium comes from India at 10% the cost of Australian retail. E.g. Aviation
    Furniture, which is cool, but crazy expensive in stores here.

    • Sounds good but import duty on wood furniture will cost same by the time you pay in Australia
