cheapest aircon that does not cool the room. Open the window, guaranteed to not cool the room and very cheap.

  • Get a piece of cardboard and fan yourself.

  • Aldi have some right now - around $500 +

Do you mean an evaporative cooler? (Fan with water going through it)

Open the fridge door and sit in front of it.

    • You know this doesn't work in real life because thermodynamics…

"Lisa, in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!"

    • Open the fridge door and sit inside it…

Just kidding, you could suffocate in there.

I would say the cheapest aircon not to cool the room would be a fire. Doesn't really require a fireplace, just light the corner of the bed. guaranteed not to cool the room.

    • Yeah might give that a crack. Evaporative air might be the go best for electricity bill.

        Evaporative air won't work.
You need refrigerated air con, especially at Gympie.
Get a cheap all in one ( the type that's like a square box and you can fit it in a window.

        Something like this http://www.betta.com.au/teco-tww40cfb-air-conditioner-coolin…

They sit in a window so you don't need to pay an air con installer to fit it.

  • The product you are describing does not exist.

    • jedi mind trick?

  • So you want an air conditioner that doesn't cool the room down but just blows cool air onto you… In the heatwaves that we have been having, are you sure about this? Why not a better solution like cooling the whole room down and make it a tad more comfortable for yourself? My suggestion is a floor fan but since you don't want to cool the room, it will be warm/very warm air…

Cheapest would be a portable air conditioner - which looks ugly and is noisy.

    Good luck.

stand fan and misting spray bottle

      • Cheapest option, yes.

  • kogan has a portable aircon for ~330

  • From what I hear that's about all portable air cons are good for- blowing cool air on you if you stand close, not cooling a room. You'll need to vent it though or it will be exhausting hot air into the room.

    • I have a portable a/c and it has a tube to vent it out a window. Works well for a small room (max 4 by 5 metres). Slowly cools more area if you open the room door.

Just noisy and expensive to run, but what can you do…it's been quite hot in Sydney lately.
