  This game has decent modding Community support which has kept it fresh enough for my liking. Have to agree, great game. Unfortunately it looks like Runic is pouring all of their efforts into their new platformer "Hob" which makes TL3 unlikely.

    That's sad re: TL3 :( But I'm not sure how they could really improve on it - it accomplishes all its goals as game quite thoroughly.
    
    It's like Diablo and Path of Exile, addictive loot-based dungeon-crawling hack-n-slash, but doesn't take itself as seriously as most titles in this genre. The game is definitely worth playing, even in 2017, and has provided me hours and hours of entertainment! The mods available do indeed keep it fresh.

Just a note that if you were buying this with the intention of playing multiplayer: don't. While the game is very fun, the netcode is horrifically bad (lots of desyncs).
