So i just moved into a new house and the missus wants a video doorbell for security purposes.
I would like a wireless one, and a battery operated one (no powerpoint close by and I'm hopeless at wiring)
It seems the only one out there is the Ring one. Are there any other alternative options?

In terms of the ring doorbell OP mentioned it comes with a battery that is rated to last a year.. (maybe 3-6 months realstic charge?).
Also comes with a gaurantee if someone steals it they will replace it free of charge.
Has inbuilt security camera and sensor.
$250 + an additional cloud storage monthly fee.

I'm interested in the same, did you find anything at the end? I don't think I can justify the on-going fee from RING for the cloud video storage, consider I have NAS to store stuff at the moment…
If it is wireless and battery operated, there is nothing stopping someone from ripping it off the wall and walking away. Not to mention battery drain, a found a bunch on ebay and you are looking at a standby time of 120 hours before needing to charge. So once we week you will need to remove it from the wall and charge. Back to my first point if this was easy enough to do someone can easily walk off with it. Get a peep hole installed on the door.
