Hi All,

Im interested in buying a Dash Cam for my Car. any recommendations?

I would be willing to spend up to $250 would be nice to have 1080p

Does it have to have GPS function? do some have speed camera alert function enabled by GPS?

  • My good friend owns/runs that. Shoot him an email on [email protected] and he will help you out. He knows he stuff.

  • To answer your questions, GPS is more for speed calculation, perhaps location, but not to alert you of speed cameras. That's not their design/intention and would require a whole different scope of firmware/software. A normal GPS from TomTom etc will do that.

Re a back one. An auto electrician can wire it into the car. Generally rear ones are not needed (per my friend) as there is very little questions/doubt as to who is at fault in the case of rear-ending. The reason for the front is to catch the other things which you need evidence to prove (say, someone reversing into you, someone pulling out etc).
