Looking to Buy ALDI Motorcycle Pants/Gloves or Any Alternatives

I made a thread a while back on getting my bike. Now I've got my bike and licence, I'm looking for some sturdy gear at a reasonable price.

I was sent a message from a wonderful ozbargainer a few days ago about Aldi gear at Maroubra and I managed to grab some stuff. From memory, there's:

1 XL summer jacket ($65)
1 XL and 1 XXXL touring jacket ($70)
A lot of denim jeans, mostly XL and XXL sized (~$30-$40/pair)
About 6 pairs of boots size 10-12 ($35)

(Hopefully this helps someone out)

So my question is, has anyone seen any discounted gloves and jeans in ALDI stores across Sydney? I'd love to get a pair with knuckle protection if possible. No second hand stuff thanks.

I tried the kevlar jeans and took them back the same day. They aren't good at all in my opinion. Very flimsy. In saying that the other options can be $200 plus. Maybe try your local bike shop bargain rack. I have scored some good 'one off' buys that way over the years.

Also heard bad feedback about the aldi gloves. I have the aldi leather jacket and it is good quality, so it comes down to what is comfortable for you and appears like it will hold up over time and, hopefully not, an accident.

Personally I prefer the textile gear over leather for comfort and general water resistance. Doesn't last as long as leather though.

    • Have a mate who has been using the ALDI gloves for 2 years. Still going strong, no loose threads, just normal wear and tear.

I shall check the local clearance rack this weekend and give the ALDI jeans a pass. Thanks mate.

  • Have a look at furygan gloves on eBay. They are great quality, and under $50 for several options. I have a couple of pair, going well for years. Furygan evil best summer gloves but probably old model now.
