  • Kogan is a bogan

  • Bought these in the last Amazon deal. Good portable sound!

Can't imagine Kogan would sell them at a different price

    What is it made of?

Paid $216 for them at JB Hi-Fi with extended warranty (three years). Still reckon I prefer to go through JB as I know these will probably not make it that long due to rigouous use in the gym. Gives me peace of mind too spending that much on headphones.

    • Same - got them for $201 with extended warranty a few weeks ago from JB. No way wireless and water-resistant can last 3 years! This deal is a fair saving though.

      • My Bluebuds are over 3 years old now and still going well with much use. Shame about the terrible bluetooth drops

      So you'd recommend them?
      Have you owned anything similar?

BTW - I'm more interested in sound quality not suitability for sports etc…

I hate wireless devices in general, but these are pretty neat.

They sound great (I also have Bose SoundSports) and have a lot of options to get your fit right (3 sets of in-ear moulds and 3 wing sizes). You can also wear them over or under the ear. They don't really explain how to do this well, so watch this instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2QFhofcb8

They come with a phone app that sets your listening preferences. It actually adjusts the firmware in the headphones so they keep the same settings if you connect them to any other device.

The battery lasts ages, although they changed the charger to some stupid proprietary port. So if you lose your charging adapter, they are useless.

          Thanks zuccs!

      • I've owned the original Bluebuds X for a bit over two years now and they still work perfectly fine. Tested the battery not long ago, got up to over 5 hours til I stopped testing, so they likely would've gone a bit further (I was doing it at work and had to go home :P). Use them at work to listen to stuff and also when I go to the gym (the former is much more frequent btw). As waxy and sweaty as my ears have been while wearing them they've held themselves together really well. I don't have experience with the X3 but I'd imagine they'd have similar (if not superior) build quality and have been reviewed as having superior sound quality as well!

      • whilst the price has come down progressively on these models to the point where they offer much better value…if you aren't intending to use these for gym/sports, then there is likely going to be better stuff out there.

        • Any suggestions?

        • +1

i was expecting that follow up question, and i don't really know, sorry. i know quite a lot about jaybirds (i own the x1s), but there just has to be more slimline stuff out there where you aren't paying a premium for the gym/sweat factor.

would suggest just googling 'best bluetooth earphones' and looking through some of those 'best of' lists.

        • @dirkgonnadirk:
Ha ha ha. That's why I asked the question! I'm trying to find something that is genuinely a 'best of'.
Where do people go for legitimate product reviews these days?

    • +1

Er … doesn't jaybird give a lifetime "sweat damage" warranty?

      • Yup but the kid at JB Hifi forgets this to take the money from the suckers.

        • +1

you'd be shipping them to the US though. easier to just walk into a jb hifi (assuming you do just walk in) if you can get the warranty cheap.

  • Seems to be sold out by now =(

    • Try kogan on ebay

It's the same seller, but $5 more expensive.
