  Does anyone have experience with coax to optical converters? Are they reliable? My TV only has coax out, so it sounds like I need a converter. This one sounds like power is optional??
  Edit: whoops wrong way around, I may need this one - again unclear if can operate without power for short distances??

    You'll need a power supply. I've used them in the past and they worked fine however depending on lots of things in your system (even down to brands & models) you may end up with a small delay with the picture which could get annoying. Fine if it's just audio of course but obviously the sync of audio & video is pretty important on a TV. Unfortunately you wont know until you try so just be sure to keep the Jaycar receipt so you can take it back… but check if returns are OK before you actually pay for the item.

      Hello,

         Have many customers using converters for a heads up some have experienced audio delay issues. If you do, go to the Sonos Settings, 
      

      PLAYBAR Room Settings > Select Advanced Audio -> TV Dialog Settings > Audio Delay (Audio Sync)
      increase or decrease the sound delay if the image and the sound are not in sync.

    I bought the playbar 12 months ago, but put it up above the TV a month ago. It's excellent, and looks great. I had it just under the TV on the cabinet until then.
