      • hahahahahaha

    • I received an email summary of critical information of my contract from Optus.
No where on the contract the discount can be seen.No mentioned of the discount anywhere in the email. Basically they said it's 65/ month. So I tried to call/ live chat but have been unsuccessful to get anything in writing to confirm the discount. They said that the discount will apply from second bill. I hope they are not trying to screw us all

    • Herre, Some people have already got service working. I highly doubt this is happening. I dont think you need to worry about it.

    • In the order email sent to me by Optus, it clearly says 25% discount will apply from 2nd bill onwards. Clear written proof :)

  • hehe, optus is so good at this sh1t things. if give me another chance i never apply this sim plan. waste me at least 5 hours to make a phone call and web chat with their sales, and didnot slove the problem with id check something balabala. and at the end, 25% cannot approve? beautifull job, optus!!!

  • Here's another link.

    I believe I have 7 left :)

  • I am currently with optus my plan runs out in May, i want his offer with the s7 edge on 10GB contract for 63.75. What is the best way to keep my number, port out then port in right ? I also heard that optus call about the friend who works for optus and if you dont actually know them the dont give the offer. Also worried about them not giving the 25% after month. Your help is appreciated.

    • +1

steveray9a, that sounds like isolated case. Many people have already got service activated.
As long as you are asking for new number, porting number from another carrier or coming from Optus prepaid, you will be fine.

Send me private message whenever you are ready to use the offer and I will send you link. cheers

      • Thanks for the msg, i cant PM yet as i am new (not sure how long it takes to let me). I will get this offer in a few weeks as my prepaid doesnt expire until 22 may. Just so i am clear on what i need to do, i will buy the 10GB deal via your link (which we will sort out soon), do i then choose to port my current optus prepaid number or ask for new number then port after ??? Obviously i want to keep my current optus prepaid number and i was under the impression i need to port out then port back in. Also, can i buy this in deal March but no activate it until May when my prepaid expires so i am not paying for 2 contracts ? Thanks again - you're very helpful !!

        • Ask to port in your current Optus prepaid number. You dont need to port out of Optus prepaid. This deal is available for you.

I dont think you can hold onto this deal until May. General idea I am getting is you need to activate it soon.

  • Fresh link for Optus 25% off deal for postpaid plans from Optus employee

    • Applied through your link. Hopefully I can get the sim card quickly.

      • Thank you 😊 hopefully should not be too long however there is bit of delay due to large activation

  • Hi all,

Submitted my porting request to Optus from Amaysim and it hasn't yet been actioned. Is this due to the large number of port requests or did my request get lost? Last time vodafone to Optus took just 30 mins!

I really would like this done by tomorrow as that's when my Amaysim plan renews.

    Thanks.

    • Which link did u use ? There is bit of work hence bit of delay due to large number of orders

        • I know there is a large numbers of activation us happening this week hence there may be bit of delay however feel free to contact optus customer service and they should be able to tell you further on your orders.

        • Thanks mate. Did earlier in the evening and was told the service would be transferred tonight so see what happens tomorrow morning. Hope I'm not caught outside without reception and data all of a sudden :(

        • @NimitzHarrington: you will be alright mate good luck

        • 5 days has passed and still no activation from Optus. It would appear Optus really does not want my business?? :(

  • So.

On Sunday 5/3 I ported from my old Optus deal to Telstra prepaid.

Signed up as a new service for the $40 plan as a new number.
Got a call on Wednesday morning confirming the order. They asked wether it was for a new number or was I bringing my old number. I said I wanted to port in my old number. Was put in the system. Order processed. SIM card posted out that day.

About 530pm yesterday afternoon, my Telstra SIM lost reception/went to SOS only. Got home, SIM card in the mail box, put in the phone. Port had been completed successfully.

4 days with not making calls/data with no credit on Telstra was painful, but it was fairly quick.

    • I have a few questions if you don't mind as I am trying to do the EXACT same as you!

How did you port your old Optus to Telstra prepaid, did you go in-store or online, and was the port to Telstra quick?

Did you have and charges to pay to port over? My current optus plan doesn't end until August so I will most likely pay a cancellation fee

      Thanks!

    • UPDATE: I have ported my number to Telstra prepaid, but now it is giving me an error saying "the number is not eligible for this offer" while trying to port. Did you get this error?

      Thanks

  • Hi everyone
Is anyone experiencing issues with placing order?
I tried 5 times last night on two different devices (laptop and phone) with different links.
Then again this morning twice with the most recent link by Olivia.
Everything is fine until I hit the place order button then it takes me to a blank page with some error messages.
Tried the online chat and basically got told to go and call telesales. I called them and they said they can't do anything either, it has to be done via the shared link and maybe the Optus site is experience some tech issue due to the volume.
Does anyone know what's going on?
My phone is literally shutting itself down 5 times a day so need a new one pronto :(

    Thank you.

  • Number porting team stuffed up in my case, porting completed last night (took them over 24 hours) but I had network both in Vodafone and Optus SIM. I was able to make calls using both Voda and Optus but all the incoming will route to Voda SIM. Called them this morning and they fixed it immediately but there is a problem - Vodafone doesn't charge on pro-rata basis anymore and my billing cycle reset on 10th of every month. This mean, I would now be paying full month of charges $50 to Vodafone because of their own problem. Because apparently (acc to Optus), Vodafone didn't release the full number which they were suppose to!

  • Ordered the S7 last Sunday and received a temp order number Monday morning. No other correspondence or notifications since. The phone was delivered today (Friday).

  • 1 month left exactly on my contract.

    Costs me $58.29 to cancel

Total benefit is $120 over 12 months ($30 discounted price instead of $40pm price)

Spoke to their retention team. No luck, they're so dumb. Rather have the business have one cancellation than to offer the $120 credit

  • Need some advice here,

My previous 12mo contract is long up already (Dec 2016)

I put in an order 03/02/2017 for the S7 plan $48.75 to try my luck; got a temporary order, and no followup - anyway just rang up and the person advised me that it won't go through because I'm recontracting and have an existing number, he advised me to add a new service/new number, told him okay, cancel the temp order I'll port out then back in and sort it out myself - I have 2 active data sims in use at the moment (still 3 data sims on the dashboard, extra sim is sitting around somewhere as an extra)

I want to retain the data sims (porting out my phone number may screw around with the sims, cancelling them or making them go to a monthly charge if I understand it correctly) but at the same time port out to re-add my number under the $48.75 as a new service.

To anyone with who's in the process of doing this or has done this; will adding a month-to-month service (and then proceeding to cancel once I can port out and in) allow me to retain the data sims? Is this the best way you reckon to go about it?

  • will be back to perth 20 March, wish still have optus staff to post their offer link.

    Thanks

  • Hi , here is another link in case you want to use - https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

  • Employee here… and I was wondering how its going for other employees…? It says that 10 people have used my sign up link.. but then it says that not a single one of those 10 have activated yet. I don't see how that makes any sense?? I put my link exactly 1 week ago… I don't understand..? Is it that people are just not activating this… OR…. I know it sounds dodgy… some employees are using up the referral links.. so that…. dare I accuse… their link gets used up by legitimate people?? Now I feel dirty for accusing… But not understanding the non-activation…. I guess only 1/3 through the month… But yeah, wondering about others experience????

    • It is possible that postpaid customers have been able to use the link but the service would not activate for them (because existing customer).
This means its a waste of one referral for us :(

    • Could due to the DNS error thing that some people encountered …

    • +1

it probably means, that 10 people have applied and all 10 could have been rejected based on credit criteria etc…

  • Freaking Optus sent me a letter on the mail saying my application for my postpaid plan has been denied due to failing credit checks?!?!?!?! WTF???!!! Then when i called the sales team..they told me that my order is ready for dispatch on the warehouse. They were apologising for the letter! But how the hell that mishap happens??? Are they really bombarded with applications that they couldnt tell which one is which?

  • Late to the party - made sure my mates got sorted. 4 redemptions available. https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

  • Can anyone or employee help me with this question, I am currently an existing OPTUS post-paid customer with 3 months left on a sim only contract, is it possible to change to pre-paid and then register for a new plan with the 25% discount whilst keeping the same number? Thanks

    • Hi dblade123
Yes you can do this but please check if there would be cancellation charges if you break contract.
Secondly, when you change to prepaid and thento postpaid using this deal, keep some extra days for Optus system to update and allow you signup with this offer.

Send me private message when you need a link and I will help you out. Thanks

  • Hi everyone. Here is a new link if you are interested. Same deal as the main post.

    • Did you end up getting the email confirmation?

    • I was getting this error as well, I tried multiple times but got the error each time. I got a call on Monday saying that they had multiple orders registered, so it looks like mine went through despite the error.

      • How long after you put those orders through did you get the call from them? And did you receive any email confirmation despite the error?

        • Orders were placed Friday through Saturday, received 1 email confirmation Sunday night and a phone call on the Monday to say they had multiple orders for me.

        • @Camw:

Thanks, I'll wait a couple of days then.

    • Getting the same error, no email confirmation yet

  • +1

Got the confirmation email but does not mention anywhere about having 25% off. Does it mention 25% off in the confirmation email for anyone else?

    • Yes. The email which gives you the order confirmation and a temporary order number also mentions the 25% discount along with the plan details.

    • My signup didn't mention the 25% discount either. Has anyone else had this and what did they do? :)

  • Optus Employees:

    Post your link ONCE only.

Don't PM moderators or the OP. Just be patient, leave your link and it will eventually be added to the post. If you have a link for a different person then feel free to post that.

    • FYI - I'm a different Hannah to the one whose link is in the OP.

      • Yes, I know that. New links haven't been added since 10/3 and probably won't be added until the current links run low.

  • I am getting an error while porting from a Telstra prepaid number. It is giving me an error saying "The number is not eligible for this offer. Select "Give me a new number" if you would like to take up this offer on an additional mobile service." Any idea why I cant port my existing number?

    Thanks

    • +1

I just tried and having the same issue. I was an existing Optus customer then ported to the Telstra prepaid. One of the Optus employee said above that it takes 3 to 4 days for the Optus system to recognise that you have ported out so try again over the next few days. Keep me updated on your progress because I am in the same situation as you :)

      • Oh sweet, I was panicking a bit there hahah. I will check again every now and then and keep you updated. Thanks!

        • +2

          Hey mate
It was me who has confirmed with our internal support team that it can take 3-4 days for Optus system to update and consider you eligible.

If you turn on your private message, I can send you link. I will also help you if you have any trouble with this offer. Thanks

        • @amsaini15:
I turned on private messaging. I will give you a message in a few days if the problem is still there. Thanks!

  • Hi Everyone

FYI guys, The billing system Optus has seems a bit confusing.

Apparently the first bill you won't see the discount, it come across in the second bill as a credit.

  • +2

I did the maths - so over 365 days (1 year) on a $40.00 sim plan with a 25% discount, total payment is around $401.

Because the plan renews every 28 days, there will be 13 payments over 365 days = 13*30 = $391 + $10 because the first payment is $40 and rebated $10 on the second bill.

    • Not sure why you're getting down voted, considering there are so many Optus reps in here, it would be simple for one of them to correct you if you're wrong.

    • +3

How about the 24mth phone plans? The min cost and the 25% discount appearing on the 2nd bill doesn't add up.

      For example; Samsung s7 $48.75/month
      $48.75*24 = $1170 (specified min cost)

      Alternatively,
      $65 (first month) + $48.75*23 = $1186.25 (discount applying on 2nd bill)

      Can anyone clarify this discrepancy?

      • This is what I aksed before, but no one answered.. I called optus before and Rep explained there will be 25 (?) payments, but couldnt understand his point.

    • +1

Only the pre paid plans with a monthly expiry are on a 28 day cycle. All Optus post paid plans bill the same day each month.
You will pay for 12 months in a year with any contract available with this offer not 13 months like pre paid.

    • where did you find this info? its says 12 month plan.

      https://smb.optus.com.au/opfiles/Shop/All/cis/Cis%20Documents/SS01095_CIS_$40_My_Plan_Plus_12M_SIM_Only.pdf

Has anyone received a bill from Optus already? My service has only been activated for three days and I'm charged with $40….Is this normal?

EDIT: Seems like it is a "deposit" and would be given back once the contract ends or changes. This is quite disappointing. I don't think it was mentioned anywhere that we will have to give a "deposit" when our service activates. Does any other provider do this? Because I don't think Virgin did when I signed up with them. I regret signing up for this deal already…everything is just so dodgy.

    • +1

I signed up for the $85 plan. Have received a bill of $85. No mention of deposit. It says payment of the plan is to be done in advance.

Expecting this amount to be $63.75 for subsequent months.

      • I was told it was a "deposit" from a rep on the online chat. Where did you see that payments need to be done advance? I couldn't see it on my bill or was it mentioned when you signed up for it?

I also expect the next bill to be $30 considering it will be the 'the second bill'. But this advance payment/deposit thing is ridiculous.

        • On the last page of the pdf bill - "Your first bill is simply your plan cost - one month in advance"

        • Hmm…I've just double-checked my bill and it seems that I don't have that statement on mine.

      • +1

I received first bill of no discount as well, apparently it mentioned about 25% discount from second bill, it doesn't make sense to me. That's mean we are paying extra a month of full bill. The contract summary doesn't shown any discount and i still have to wait second bill which i still hope and pray that 25% discount applied. It's really confusing Optus bill.

And my usage period keep changing every time i open it, firstly it was shown from 3 March (confirmation date) and later on change to 7 March (activating date). Why Optus can't make it clear regarding phone plan and discount? it's really annoying.

Could it be due to 30 days network tried out? because once we get second bill, it will be over 30 days, so they will charge us cancellation fee if we are not happy and cancel the service?

        • I like it how all the Reps are just ignoring this question.

      • From my experience of just finishing a 24mth contract a couple months ago, Optus' billing system is more of a pre-paid method rather than a post-paid method hence why you are billed shortly after your contract began. Nonetheless, that first bill will be considered your prepayment of the first month and the first bill out of 24. Any additional charges to the account during the prepaid month will carry onto the next bill.

Please feel free to correct me if I was wrong.

        • Thanks for your information, If the first bill is prepayment, that's fine with me but they (optus) should include 25% discount on first bill, not second bill.

In that case, we are all need to pay first month of full bill and 23 months with 25% discount.
Except we stay for 25 months and then we get 24 months of 25% off and first month of full bill. The total minimum cost as per sign up plan is not accurate.

Anyway let's see, if i can get 25% discount onward, i don't mind paying a bit extra for the first month, It's still quite save compare without any discount at all.

I just felt not right with the way Optus applied discount and misleading information.

  • I'm quite keen to sign up to a plan and came across this, if anyone has a fresh link or so and would like to share, please PM me.

    Thanks in advance :)

Edit: Some of the bottom links still work, my bad! Great deal, thanks so much to all the employees for sharing.
