Price has gone up on most of the phones, looking at the iphone 7 it was 0 monthly fee for phone, now it showing as $9 for phone. brings it to $72.5 from $64.5

  • New link if you're having trouble with the other one
    https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

    • Is there anything you can help us with in regards to some of the phones increasing in price?

      • Ask some of the reps who have been helping out here, not new posters just spamming their links.

  • Here is my link for 10 people to get 25% off their monthly access fee's when signing up to a new phone plan. I still have 10 spots remaining :-)

      • Greatly appreciated in your help loke but unfortunately I was looking the part in the checkout where it says

        Samsung Galaxy S7 Repayments
$0 per month phone repayment. Including $XX Phone Credit. I am trying to see if anyone would know what $XX the phone credit to the phone would be

    • What can you do with the screenshort? They jacked up the phone price $5 for each month.

  • Well, it seems they don't do data sharing anymore. Buying 10gb of data to be used on the 1 device only, isn't practical for me.
    Not going to spend.

Are there any other providers that do offer data sharing on the 1 plan?

  • Deal is OzBargained, they increased the Samsung S7 price!

    • I got a S7 edge couple of weeks back with this deal in the $65 plan and $10 handset payment with be discount for $58.75 it's now gone up to $24 handset payment taking $72.75 - glad I jumped in when I did!!! Sneaky Optus!

  • Can I avail the $30 sim only (from $40) deal now and activate it last week of April or 1st week May? My current sim-only plan from click frenzy deal will finish next month.

    • Hey mate
You cannot delay activation for too long. Once you receive sim, you have 5-10 days when you have to activate.

I have sent you private message with the link. Let me know if you have issue. cheers

  • I know it might have been discussed many times. My situation:
    Currently - optus prepaid customer
Am I eligible for $40 sim only plan with 25% dicount offer?

    • +1

Yes you are mate. If you get error message you are not eligible, please give couple of days.

I have sent you link in private message. Thanks

      • Awesome !! using ur link :)

  • So I ordered an Iphone over the weekend and I am going overseas next week. Called them today to try confirm that I will be able to get the phone before I go. The lady told me that she couldn't find my application at all and then proceeded to put me on hold for 40 minutes (after which I just hung up because I really couldn't wait anymore). has anyone had similar issues?
How long did you guys wait until you received your phone?

  • Perhaps a stupid question, but do the tablet plans apply too?

    • Mobile plans only- With or without sim.

  • Man that sucks that they jacked up some of the prices. Was really tempted to get the S7 plan a few days ago as well :(

  • Sucks that the prices have gone up on the popular phones.

I've had a fairly good experience. Ordered 16th, got proper tracking number next day (Fri) and the phone arrived today. Three business days to get it. Did not have to ring anyone up etc.

  • Huawei Mate 9 plans are still what is was before so get it now before they jack up the prices. Or they wouldnt because its not that popular.

  • +1

Definitely give them a call after you place an order. If I didn't I would still be waiting. Once you get them on the phone and they find your order they basically ask you the same stuff you put in the checkout page and then proceed to do the credit check. At that point it should be very quick. Had my phone call with Optus last Thursday and got my phone and new sim yesterday. Thankfully I applied before they increased the price.

Also, I was on a Optus postpaid to begin with. I had to switch to Optus prepaid, wait 4 days and then I could apply.

    Best of luck!

    • +1

Out of curiosity, the credit check was done on the phone correct?

I only ask as when I rung them up, he said I was approved then afterwards we were discussing keeping my number, put me on hold, come back and told me there was a mixup. Apparently the credit department needs 24 hours to do their thing, even after he told me I had been approved. Afterwards he appeared to want to hang up pretty quickly.

      • Yeh they said 24/48 hrs but only took one day

        • I got approved immediately. I cancelled my postpaid, took 2 days for them to switch me to prepaid. Then it took another 2 days before my number was eligible for a new contract. I filled in the info and got immediately approved. I ordered on Thursday and got my phone today, Monday.

          NO gear fit unfortunately :(

  • It's been 6 days since porting from postpaid to prepaid and still getting

"This number is not eligible for this offer.
Select "Give me a new number" if you would like to take up this offer on an additional mobile service."

    • Call them, it took 3 phone calls and 3 separate attempts to move from postpaid to prepaid. After that it took me another 2 days before my number became eligible.

  • Here is my personal link, 7 redemptions left.

  • We have enough links (103 links or 1,030 signups) to span the next 10 days. Also I'm sick of adding links in. Please do not add any further links as the system will automatically remove your comment.

  • Has anyone with a S7/S7 edge been able to use VoWIFI on the BYO plans?

I can see the VoLTE & VoWIFI options and have enabled them but cant see any of the icons in the status bar?

  • I'm on the iphone7 deal for 63.75 a month, when i check my usage it says 8gb and a friend of mine says 10gb, which it should be. Rang them up and they gave me a link to reinstall the app and said it would fix, they reassured me i was on the plan but still says 8gb? Anyone have this error?

Hi guys can i please get a link…

    • Seriously? There are over 100 in the description!

      • hi Neil … how would you like new links posted. I just got the (Referral or affiliate links in comments are not allowed)

  • how's optus' customer service still so dman bad,
I ordered legit a week ago, called them cuz I heard nothing back, says it's still in the process of credit check after having to wait 30 minutes to speak to a foreign 'customer service' operator

and what's the point of their webchat lmao they can't do anything

    • 30 minutes to speak to a foreign 'customer service' operator

Yep, I agree, its a foreign operator fault. After all, it wasn't Optus who outsourced their call centre…

      • huh?

    • That really sucks. I wonder why there is such a variance between each customer. I literally ordered mine on the 16th (Thurs), got my actual order number the next day (Fri) and got my phone on Monday. Didn't even have to get in contact with them even once.

  • hi optus reps,
i'm currently on prepaid optus, will this be any problems
to changing over? also, do i keep my existing sim or do they have
to send a new one out to me? if not, can they just change it in the system,
and i keep my existing sim?

    • You will be better off reading this whole forum to find answer to your question. Don't expect Optus rep to respond to you! You ask them a question and they throw you a referral link in answer…

    • +1

      Hey mate
I hope I have answered this for you in private msg. Let me know if you have any more ques. Thanks

      • good on you Rep, you are one of the few I have seen responding to people questions.

        • +1

Just trying my best to give back to the best community in the world :)

      • ok, thanks. i will check it out.

  • Very annoyed right now! I signed up BEFORE the price increase and just got my confirmation email and order number but they have signed me up with the increased handset repayment price. When I signed up it was $0 repayments and the contract they emailed me says $5 repayments. That's not what I signed up for! My temporary order number and email say $0 repayments.
Who can i speak to to fix this please?

    • You can call Vodafone and see if that helps!

On a serious note…you need to call Optus sales team, might take an hour to get through but there is no shortcut unfortunately.

      • I'll have to call them. So frustrating.
Has this happened to anyone else? I sure hope it's an easy fix and it doesn't stuff up my contract.

        • Same thing happened to me.

        • @justmaybe:
Have you called them about it yet? We're they able to fix it?

        • I spoke to Optus yesterday after a 1 hour wait anf they confirmed I will be getting a $120 credit straight up and paying $5 more each month which works out the same.

  • Those people who have ported to prepaid from postpaid check your online account. Your order even though you might have been told didn't go through because you were ineligible would have gone through. Optus is very very stupid but i don't have time to chat with them.

I ported out to prepaid on the 15th and it's been 8 days since waiting for my number to be released so i can sign up to the plan. I checked online today and my accounts says it has been on the new plan since the 15th. Don't know what has happened to the $10 recharge i made on my prepaid account.

  • Does anyone know what happens if we are not home when the phone is delivered? Is someone else at the house able to accept the delivery?

    • The postman/courier guy leaves the card in your letterbox and you collect from nearest post office.
You need to show your ID as parcel says only delivered to the recipient in above address.

    • Nope, calling card is left and you collect from the post office. Only the account holder can sign for equipment. Edit: opps someone already replied… What he said lol.

  • I have just an OK experience with this. Ordered sim only plan for 12 months last Friday. I received the sim card Tuesday (while I was out) and by Tuesday afternoon my previous service was disconnected, I wasn't aware that it was going to be automatic like that.

Tried to activate my sim card that Tuesday night and failed, kept displaying "no sim" warning, turned out they sent me a lemon sim card. Got to talk to a rep who seemed to be in utter disbelief that I got a faulty sim card (i.e. told him that my phone displayed previous sim card info which was Telstra, which means the new sim card wasn't working and he kept thinking I inserted the wrong sim card). Got sent to a store to replace my sim card, the sales rep there neither cared nor helpful, eventually they replaced the sim card though.

Was just gonna cancel the whole thing if it wasn't for the discount. If anyone is having trouble activating their service, it's worth checking if the sim card is a faulty one.

  • ok this experience so far has been a joke.

applied 1 time had to go instore to prove myself with passport etc and they told me to wait another 48 hours and still havent heard back from them after 48 hours and cause they cancelled my phone too early as i bought it out (was meant to end at the end of this period) i cant call :(

can a optus rep message me here ? would be lovely wanna get this going asap

    • why do you have to go in-store to prove yourself?? why can't you apply online? and this promo is online only.

      • because the online staff werent doing the job properly

the issue turns out was i was getting declined due to using a seperate address as a delivery address to my home address
when i went inside it was fixed instantly as they saw the issue straight away

now im worried that the 25% off hasnt been applied to my account and i didnt get the 10gb i was meant to either >:( also apparenlty optus systems are having issues so i cant call and confirm this

  • anyone else have really long wait times to confirm a number port?

Been calling the 1300929949 number everyday and the wait times are always half hour plus.

    • Yea i waited 1 hour plus .. Multiple times. Its terrible.
I still have a temp order. so slow.

      • yeah I finally got on the line and then it disconnected..
        haven't bothered to call back

    • How long did you have to wait? The OP did say it would take 3-4 days after a port to before porting back in.

If you have just ported out from Optus to another carrier and are porting back in to Optus using this offer, please allow at least 3-4 days for system to update. Eventually if you keep trying, you will get through it. Its just matter of time.

    • have you managed to port in?

  • Do you guys think it is too late to port out to another carrier on prepaid and take up this offer?

    • Yea too late, takes 3-4 days to update the porting, im still wating from friday 24th, before i can port back maybe monday

      • Damnit. I guess I am getting a new number and setting up call forwarding.

  • My service has been activated for a few days now, but it is still not showing the bonus 2gb data. Anyone else having the same issue? should I be chasing up Optus?

  • So how do we redeem the Gear fit if our phone is arriving after the promotion ends? (ie, cant provide a IMEI)

    • OK my bad the promotion ending means you have to order the phone itself before the 27th March - you can redeem after that when you receive the phone (but before 17th April).

      • How do you redeem? I ordered on the 24th and got the phone today but no gear fit?

        • @ezz88:

Thank you, but what do I use as proof of purchase number?
I have a paper delivery note that I got with the phone today, it doesn't state any proof of purchase number. Just SOS order number, imei, sim and phone number.

They also want you to upload proof of purchase. Is that the critical information summary?

        • @Shout It Out: Is there an invoice? Another person in this thread said to use the invoice as a Proof of Purchase. Also if you need a number use the Order number (it's like an 8 digit number that optus send you in their second email, not the temporary number). I spoke to a representative who said to use the optus order number to claim the gearfit. If in doubt call the gearfit promotion number 1800 900 730.

  • Anyone know how long it takes to port from Vaya to Optus for this?
Sim only. Both optus so i guess it takes longer than from another provider (don't get why same provider = longer)

    • I am still waiting after porting out to amaysim from 24th, my amaysim number's active but inputing the number into the deal says its ineligible.. hopefully it updates by end of this month. otherwise i m screwed. lol

      • Did exactly the same thing. Old Optus sim stopped on fri. Amaysim started working on mon. Managed to take up the Optus deal this afternoon. You should hopefully be good to go now, or tomorrow at latest.
