        • Upto you brother but offer is too good to miss

        • @amsaini15: Your link is filled. Know of any others?

        • @rollypollym:

I checked 1 min ago, still has 6 left. Can you please try again.

          Aman - https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

Also, if you experiencing any problem with getting/activating service after using my link, let me know and I will organise special assistance for you.

        • @amsaini15: It says cannot reach DNS server. It's the third time i've tried after putting in details. Maybe I will try from my phone.

        • @rollypollym:

DNS server cant be related to my referral limit. Please try again with another device

        • @amsaini15: Weird. Unfortunately didnt work on my phone either. Weird and frustrating :(

        • +1

          @amsaini15:

I'm also getting the DNS error. I tried three times. Different browsers and once using the personal hotspot from my phone. My unique circumstances are below (let me know if you are the same for any of them):
          1. I am currently with Optus prepaid and trying to port my number so that may be causing the problem?
          2. I am choosing Samsung S7 Black on $65 plan (reduced to $48.75) - maybe its out of stock?

        • @onceupon8: yeah I got the same issue telesales.optus.com.au’s server DNS address could not be found.

        • @rollypollym:

Were either of your circumstances the same as my two circumstances mentioned above?

        • @rollypollym: Not just you. Down via Internode and Optus 4g

        • @Murdrum: That was 30 mins ago. Last link worked for me :) ty

  • Are these Optus Plan prices inclusive of GST?
ie: Is the iPhone 7 10GB Plan $63.75 incuding GST or is it added on?

  • Anymore links? My link didn't work. I've tried the last two.

  • +1

Thanks so much, just ordered an iPhone 7 :~)

  • does anyone else get the error "drivers license number entered does not match correct format"?

  • $48.75/mo Galaxy S7/Huawei P9/(7GB Data)
    $30/mo iPhone SE (1GB data)

    S7 included bonus Gear Fit2 I believe.

Bit of a no brainier that this is a deal as is, but as a suggestion for possible bargains to outline, the above seem really cheap.

Suzette and Frank's links both maxed.

  • Argh! My 2 year contract runs out on the 18th of March. It says you need to sign up before the 31st of March. That means I'd have to wait til the 18th and hope any of the above links will still work?
    Is that right?

    • Thanks a lot. I owe you a beer. S7 edge/$85 plan on $63.75

  • What would happen if I buy an iPhone 7 Plus, stay for 1yr, Upgrade to new phone for $99. Do I get the same price or new price at the time?

    • No you lose the 25% discount.. I asked chat

      • Thanks Rogue - do you know if you were to get the sim only plan, that after 12 months it reverts back to the non-discounted price?

        • not sure but id assume you would lose it after 12, by then other good deals will be around, but likely not as good as 12gb for $30

        • +1

          @RogueWolf:

Yeah, spoke to them last night - they confirmed the discount ends at the completion of the fixed term arrangement

        • +1

@geoffs87: thanks for the update, shame but still a great deal

  • Anyone else getting: telesales.optus.com.au’s server DNS address could not be found ? Maybe Optus has shut this sweet sweet deal down

    • I'm getting this too, after I try submitting my details.

      • pretty frustrating. Ozbargained?

      • Me too

        • @amsaini15:

I changed my DNS servers away from Google back to default. And tried the application again (not with your new link) and it worked. Not sure if the problem was a temporary one before or if it was related to Google DNS servers.

        • @onceupon8:
          Glad it worked for you.

    • yep same
      either that or

      An unexpected error has occurred!
Error Message: Invalid value specified for function parameter. Function Name: SUBSTRING Parameter Name: Length Parameter Ordinal: 3 Parameter Type: Numeric Submitted Value: -1 ClientID: 6201477 JobID: 0 ListID: 0 BatchID: 0 SubcriberID: 0

Description: An unexpected error occurred during the execution of the page.

    • I got that the first time i tried 5 mins ago . Tried with different email address and it worked. Hope they dont send me two contracts :S

    • Probably just very popular :)

  • OK, enough with the links. We have more than enough. Further employee links in the comments will be removed.

    • I think they are getting used up as people take them. I finally got a link that worked.

      • The used ones say (example):

        Callum is too popular!
10 of Callum's friends have already redeemed this offer, and unfortunately it is no longer available.

I've just checked and all of the ones in the description + main link should work.

Is it not loading the links for you?

        • +1

I kept getting DNS error after putting my details. Mustve not liked some details. Sorted it now. Thanks.

        • @rollypollym:

          Cool.

  • I'm still getting DNS errors. Has anyone figured out how to get around it?

    • +1

Are you using Google DNS servers? If yes, try changing your DNS servers back to default and closing your browser and opening it again. This worked for me.

    • +1

or use another referral link. That is what i did. Good Luck!

      • Hey thanks! I tried it all and I think using another referral link did the trick :)!

edit: the other thing I did was change my contact number to another number that wasn't being used to port to this new service. really doubt that made a difference but for those struggling give that a try!

    • +1

Hey Bluke. I was getting the same thing. It actually goes through. I did it 7 times. Optus called me and said why have you tried to port your number 7 times lol. So you should get a call. If not give them a call.

      • oh no! haha thanks for warning me, will be waiting for that phone call!

        • Same here :)

  • ordered an IP7 Plus 256gb and a Huawei Mate 9!!! So excited!!! Thanks Optus employees!!!!

  • +1

Sorry guys, I am new to this post - I am currently on sim only 12 months and up for renewal now. I have read conflicting information regarding this new service is for NEW customers only whereas other sections saws also for RENEWALS. Could someone please clarify for me? (if able to renew towards this 25% off plan, how do i do it?) Tried calling up optus but out of office hours. The livechat people werent helpful at all!

    • +1

As someone mentioned earlier. offer only available for below. Not available for recontracting

      New number's
      porting numbers from other providers
      OR optus pre paid numbers

      • Thank you so much for replying! sad days for me

        • If it is too good for you, Port out to kogan/aldi/etc and port back in :)

        • @amsaini15:

The last time one of the discounted 12mo sims only plans came up with 'New Customers Only', the online staff were able to port me to prepaid before putting me on contract for the plan

Do you have any experience with this?

The my accounts page or this https://www.optus.com.au/changeplanmobile / https://offer.optus.com.au/mobilerpc/ do have the options but it seems to me that it's best to speak to a customer service rep online as they do it for free and quickly on their end

andrgram seems to have had success with the online chat rep

  • +2

Quick question, there seems to be conflicting information (unless i'm not reading it correctly). Suggests you get 25% off for 12 months (or 24 months). However, further in the T&C's it states: will remain on your service until you recontract, change to an ineligible plan or cancel your plan.

Does the latter mean the price you are eligible for (ie $30 for a $40 sim only plan) lasts until you change your plan etc? Or after 12 months it reverts to $40?

      • yeah i spoke with their online chat last night… seems like the former is true, not the latter.

They said that the second statement suggests if changes are made mid contract, you lose the discount, however if you stay on that contract, at the end of the 12 or 24 months, you lose the discount :(

  • $30 for sim only 12GB, unlimited, 300 int mins, is worth looking at, mmmm…
data is getting cheap. it's a race to the bottom, yay!

  • +1

Has any current Optus customers been successful in getting the discount without porting your number out first.
I have rung and live chatted to Optus, unsuccessfully.

    • Had a similar question to yours

"offer only available for below. Not available for recontracting

      New number's
      porting numbers from other providers
      OR optus pre paid numbers"

      From amsaini15 - associated

  • Anyone had problems ordering on safari?
I've tried on a MacBook and my iPad and both fail when I press the order button.
I get the no internet connection page.

    • I had the same issue but on my SEVENTH try it worked.

  • So from what I can gather, I can add a service to my existing account and it will get the discount as it's a new service?

Furthermore, is there anyway of signing up now and banking the value/subsidy of the phone to use when the Samsung S8 comes out?

    • +1

No. Dont think so mate. You sign up now and chose handset. Cant wait for future handset launch.

      • Alternatively, could I sign a sim free 24 mth contract now and upgrade at the end of April to a contract that has a phone subsidy to get the S8 and still get the discount off the new plan?

        • How can you sign with sim free? This deal is for mobile sim with or without handset.

        • @amsaini15:

Sorry, I meant sim only. Sign up to sim O ly on the lowest value plan and then upgrade at the end of April and get the discount on a new plan that includes a subsidy towards the S8?

        • @carleast: nice try with the double dip. Don't think re contracting works that way. When you sign up for the new plan in April, you will be put to a new plan. I Luled @ subsidy.

        • @starburstyellow:
          [@amsaini15]

How about this then? It says that you need to activate before 30th April. I'm guessing that means that you can sit on your sim until then and not get charged? How about you sit on the sim until then, call customer services and change your plan to one that includes a phone? That way it's a change of mind.

Why moderators are removing referral links?

    • We have enough links. No need to litter the thread with anymore.

  • +1

    Just tried twice…. getting:

    This site can’t be reached

telesales.optus.com.au’s server DNS address could not be found.
    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

    whyyyy

    • same here :(

      • I got it on my seventh go!

        • will try again tomorrow after about seventh times :(

    • Yeah very frustrating, I finally got it after many tries.

  • Can you move 2 numbers to this offer? If so how?

  • Is optus getting the Huawei P10 Plus or Sony XZ premium anytime before 30 March?

  • Evening Optus reps, I've just taken the plunge and signed up for the $40 online sim only plan Sunday (26/2). The service isn't yet active as I'm currently waiting for a sim to be sent through in the mail (apparently there are delays / backlogs with this process). Any recommendations / assistance as to how I can have this F&F 25% discount retrospectively applied to my account? Noting that the service isn't yet active. Thanks.

    • +1

cancel the order and don't activate the sim - contract begins when sim is activated :)

      • correct!

  • +1

Wonder if Telstra will copy this deal this or next week…

That said, $48.75 for an S7 with 7GB of data is shockingly good value from Optus!

I'm currently with Amaysim on their 3GB $29.90 BYO plan on my main mobile and a $10 1GB data plan so have been looking for a while now for a suitable data sharing pack. If I go with the above plan, can I get a data share sim using my existing 1GB data plan number? Else cheapest mobile broadband plan with data sharing is $15/month…

  • I'm giving up. Have tried a dozen times, including from 4G networks on two mobile phones with two different networks. Keep getting the DNS error fail!!!

    Any solutions??

    Going to bed! Very frustrating.

  • These are some great deals, especially the s7 one! I've got a sim only plan until july though, quite tempted to get out of it, change carrier and then come back to Optus with this offer. Is this going to last for a while?
