        • thanks for being upfront, would explain the flood of new associated users posting links

        • What can an employee do with these points?

  • Hi Guys,

Here's a new link for you to use:

    https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

    Thanks

  • Link to the phones says new and recontracting customers yet comments on here indicate current customers ineligible for this deal ….am i missing something?

    • Offer only available for new customers, customers porting from other carriers or prepaid to postpaid transfer customer.

      • +1

Then why does it say recontracting.

        • plan may be for new or recontracting postpaid customers, discount is for new ones only :)

        • @tonester:

Shouldn't be. It's not like the discount is in the form of a coupon which applies to a plan available to recontracting customers. The link already has the discounted price factored in it and says is available to reconstructing clients.

Offer is available to friends of employees. Now if all these employees signing up to ozbargain and posting their links here means they think of us as their friends. They also do have reasons to think of us as friends. We ozbargainers have given them a lot of our money.

  • Another Link to add to list Kerrin's Link :)

Keep getting roadblocked by the live chat service about recontracting. Even though it says on the site you can recontract

    • Where does it say that? I can only see new customers..

      • 30$ BYO sim

      • Only available for
        1. New customers
        2. customers porting from other carriers
        3. prepaid to postpaid

Please let me know if you need a link to signup. Thanks

    • I was previously on a sim only plan

When I 'recontracted' to a discounted 12month sim only plan - this was last year ,

the solution the rep worked out for me was to put me over to prepaid on their end, meaning, final bill, credits etc.

and then resigned up to the 12mo sim only (had to pay again for data sims)

I put in a temp order this morning via link, but I still need to talk to a customer rep, whether live chat or on the phone about finalising the billing/putting me to prepaid.

  • Hey I'd like some advices from Optus workers : I'm currently on a prepaid sim plan with Optus, so I have to recharge every 28 days. Am I eligible for this deal ? Thanks

    • Yes if you are moving from prepaid to postpaid, you are eligible.

      Please use this link -

      Steven - https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

      • Thanks ! But I still have 8 days left on my prepaid, should I wait before contracting ? I don't want to loose those 8 days, as I still have 5GB left !

        • You will have 12 GB on $30 plan (25% off on $40 plan). Wouldn't that be enough?
You can wait 8 days but then who knows you may have to chase Optus employees. I am guessing all links will be exhausted in 2-3 days.

  • How many Optus employees here at from retail Co?

  • Has anyone else got data free Netflix streaming on a Sim Only plan?

I have rung through a couple of times and have been willing to pay the extra $10 per month and go to 24 months contract in order to get it, but I have been told that you have to have a device as well.

    • +1

You can only get the data free Netflix streaming on 2 year contracts with a phone or tablet. It's not offered on the sim only plans

    • +1

LuckyLuke - it's your lucky day. You'll get DATA FREE music streaming (Spotify, iHeartRadio, Pandora & Google Music) on ALL Optus phone plans.

      • @LucyGoldwater - I love your positivity! That indeed was the reason I signed up. I am going to cancel our optus broadband connection and try to live a more data-frugal life. I was hoping that I might be able to get Netflix as well, but I will be content with using the local TelstraAir connection to download shows in Netflix and watch them offline.

        • +1

Hi Lucky Luke - you can sign up for a 24 month plan with a phone, and either pay $10 for data free Netflix, or if you sign up for the usually $85 plan you'll get data free Optus Sport, if you sign up to the usually $100 plan, you'll get data free Netflix included AND Optus Sport. I've got 8 more Family & Friends discount codes on 'Sid's link' listed in the offer description at the top of the page. Good luck!

  • Hi Everyone,

I think my link was removed before it was finished. I still have 2 Submissions left for whoever wants them.

    https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

    Goodluck.

  • Is Optus going to wig out about all these new cheap deals we are getting and pull the plug? I am excited to finally have a flagship phone on the way soon, but wondering if they were expecting so many people to share their links with the general public…

    • Hi Amberflamber,

      I highly doubt it, IMHO.
They've already catered for 10 submissions per employee, as to where it came from, I don't think it would have mattered. :)

      • When I spoke to the telephone customer service they said that my credit rating was good enough for me to have a second plan on the same deal - so they can't be too worried about it.

  • *** Hey Guys - here's a fresh link for you all :) ***
    *** Best of luck!! ***

    https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

    • Thanks mate, just used it! :)

      • Yayyy! You're welcome :)

  • A VERY BIG WARNING TO THOSE WHO SIGNED UP LAST NIGHT:
    * I signed up to the $48.75 plan (discounted from $65) with the Samsung Galaxy S7.
    * Total min cost over 24 months is clearly listed as $1170

This morning, I received a "here's all you need to know" email. There is a small link you can click in it to view the Contract. Looking at the contract I see:
    * Minimum total cost is listed as $1560
    * My address was changed back to my previous Optus address
    * No mention of 25% discount

    Is this cause for alarm?

    • Hey onceupon8 - I wouldn't stress too much, however worth getting in touch with their Chat team perhaps to take a closer look & ensure the discount has been applied properly, as well as update your address details (since your last order). Let us know how you get on!

    • You wouldn't know until you received your first bill. And someone should've called you beforehand to verify your order which I've had a few minutes ago.

      • I ordered last evening and haven't had any call or email (except for an email acknowledging my order and a temporary order number). When did you place your order?

        • ordered last night as well, two actually, an IP7Plus and a Huawei Mate 9. Received a call this afternoon confirming my details and delivery address and I have asked them as well if I can delay the activation and they said yes for 10 days only. I'm not sure where did they get that info but I'll chat them again once I received my goods! BTW temporary order number and email acknowledgement was received as soon as i place my order last night. Now waiting for credit management for preapproval and final confirmation.

      • Interesting, my status shows that order has been sent to warehouse, but I didn't receive any calls? Maybe because I'm already with Optus broadband?

I wouldn't stress too much about final price, on the first email from Optus it clearly shows 25% discount, so if not applied we can always call and fix it. BTW, I don't think first bill will include said discount, on the email it clearly states "25% OFF DISCOUNT WILL APPEAR ON 2ND BILL".

    • Not sure why you got negative vote, but I have ➕ you.
Anyway be careful with optus and be sure to check your direct debit amount because I have to called them 5 times to fixed my last 4 bills since switching from cable to NBN. It is the same company we are dealing with even though it is a different products in this case ( mobile phone plan vs home phone internet bundle)

  • We need to talk to you about your Optus order. Pls call us on 1300929949

I wonder what they are going to discuss over the phone…

    • Let us know!

    • Could be something raised by credit management or even something like a clarification of delivery details.
I have had this a few times over the last few years when ordering new services.

    • They will be just be discussing your order details and whether you will require a new service number or porting to Optus.

  • get a call from Optus, they said they cannot process my order right away, all of those orders with special discount will be forwarded to their back office, processing time is around 24 - 48 hours

    • When did you place your order?

      • last night around 6PM

  • Out of curiosity, Optus employees get rewards points out of this. What do you use those reward points for? What are they worth if you get 10 people sign up using your link?

    • -1

they said they get an internal points/rewards but didn't clarify what those are.

      • Yeah I know, that is why I am asking :)

      • Hi there - yes Optus employees receive reward points for each person who takes up their Family & friends discount. 1 person signing up to the discount = 2500 reward points which is the equivalent of a $50 gift voucher. 10 people = 25,000 reward points which is $500 gift voucher.

        • can you please give us a clear answer on how long can we delay the activation?

          Thanks!

        • @angelkulit025: If you sign up for either a SIM only or a new plan + phone, activation of the plan will occur as soon as your delivery arrives at the delivery address supplied, or at the Post Office for you to collect if the delivery was unsuccessful. There's 9 more discount links on Sid's link in the offer description above. Thanks!

        • @LucyGoldwater:does that mean there is no option for a delay in activation???

        • @angelkulit025: No sorry - the offer's a limited time only offer. I've got 8 Family & Friends discount codes listed on 'Sid's link' in the offer description above. Don't miss out!

      • Wow! $50 per referral. No wonder there are so many Optus employees here all of a sudden. I would love a $500 bonus.

  • +1

So many Optus employees here in Ozbargain…..Nice…

  • +1

How long does it take for Optus to contact you about your order? Been almost 24 hours and all I've received is a temporary order number and no idea on whether it's been accepted or not

    • When the list gets low, I'll add some more. At this point there are way more than enough as we have the whole of March for this promotion.

  • Optus Reps: Again, please post your links ONCE. The links in the description will be updated when they are mostly depleted. Don't PM me links.

    Everyone else:

I am updating the links in the deal/description throughout the day so please use them.

Please use the links in the main link of the deal (go to deal or thumbnail) or links in description.

  • A couple of slots available on this link.

    https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

    • It is saying number ineligble for this offer?

      • Hi Rollypollym,

I've spoken to an internal team on the error you're experiencing - 'this number is not eligible for this offer'.

You may be experiencing this error if you've recently ported your number away from Optus as it hasn't yet been recognised in Optus' system to update to identify that you're no longer an Optus customer.

Best advice I can give you is wait a couple of days to take up the offer with your mobile number, port the number back to Optus and get you 25% off discount. 25% off is too good to miss out on.

Please use the discount codes listed in the offer description - Sid's link, Samara's link, Mark's link.

  • +1

    Hi All,

Can someone please confirm if the 25% discount is forever until you stay with Optus even after upgrading to a new plan after two years?

    • upgrading would mean losing the discount unless you can negotiate otherwise :)

      • Does that mean if you stuck to the same plan the discount will always apply?

        • the 25% discount ends when the contract ends, so 12 months for BYO, or 24 months if you go on a 24 month contract with a handset

    • Hi wild20000, do you know if the discount will still apply even after the contract term of 12 or 24 months or will it revert back to the original price?
