        • I tried to put my existing number in but it said this number isn't eligible for this offer. I haven't got anywhere on chat either, first I was told I could get the offer through the link and then when I had trouble with it I was told they would sort it out but I was then sent an email to say I couldn't.

    • good to hear, that's what the livechat rep explained to me (my 12mo contract was up Dec 2016) but I was still concerned - last time the rep (phone I think?) put me to prepaid in their system then onto the 12mo contract

    • I'm in the same boat as you as well. No update at all since getting the temp order ID. I had put in an order on Wednesday itself in the afternoon. Can any of the optus guys help out here?

    • I can help - call this number 1300 929 949 - They could track with the temp number and advise my order had been processed and gave me a new number I could use to track the order on the Optus tracking page… Phone is shipped and on the way!

      • Does that mean you did not get an order number till you called 1300 929 949? Thanks for your response btw! Will try to call that number, I tried the live chat but all of them said they could not help for some reason. Hopefully my phone is already on the way as well!

        • Sorry for the delay - yes I still have not had an email with an official order number or contract, but the new order number the call centre gave me when I called has allowed me to track the fact that my phone has already shipped and hopefully will be delivered tomorrow…I think they are just slammed and perhaps the emails aren't going out like they should…

    Here's my experience so far…Got an iphone 7.

    Signed up on 1-March in the morning. Got an email with the temporary order in the afternoon.

    Didn't get any subsequent emails (was expecting a confirmed order #). On 2-March got an sms in the evening - welcome to optus sport.

    Then 3-March morning started getting sms - voicemail setup, service ready to go. Didn't receive any sms/emails about the phone delivery.

    I am with coles mobile (optus reseller), and the current sim was ported over directly to optus. Very bizarre. Bit annoyed by this, as I had a couple of weeks to go on my prepaid plan.

    Spoke with sales team. They confirmed phone should be delivered next week.

    • they should've not done that as they need a confirmation first before they ported your number to Optus! I was told via chat that porting is the only way I can delay the activation of my service but it doesn't look like so based from your experience. I'm getting anxious and annoyed now!

      • Agree they shouldn't have done that.

        If you are with a non Optus reseller, you may have a different experience. If you don't have a confirmed order #, then you call up them up and get it based on your temporary order #. Then use the confirmed order # to track the status on https://www.optus.com.au/shop/welcome

    • something is not right with your story, sorry but you said you started receiving sms from Optus? from which sim card are you referring? from your coles mobile?
      Normally, when you port in to a new provider, you need to use their sim cards and then start the porting from your old provider.

        But I am with coles mobile which uses the optus network. I had my coles mobile sim in the phone and started getting these sms. Of course when signing up online, I did specify my current number as contact point. So getting sms updates wasn't a surprise.

        • what??? so you will still be using your coles mobile sim on your new phone? that's really weird eventhough coles mobile is a reseller of Optus, they should've provided you with a new sim card.

  • Can anyone from optus please confirm when the 3.5GB bonus data offer for the galaxy s7 on $65 plan ends? The website says 5th march but when i was in an optus store today they promised that it had been extended to 26th march. Your website still says the 5th though. Can anyone please confirm?

    I would prefer to sign up in a few weeks closer to the 26th but dont want to miss bonus data offer if it really expires on the 5th. How can we find out for sure when the website and staff in store say a different date?

      The bonus data offer ends on the 5 March for the 25% off offer as stated on the plan details page of the offer link. The 25% off offer is an online employee Family & friends exclusive offer only so T&Cs will differ from in store offers.

      My advice is sign up for a deal before Sunday when the offer ends.

  • Is anyone else having issues with these orders?

    I had a text message asking to call Optus. I sat on hold for 50 minutes on 02/03/2017 to be told that there was something wrong with the account system and that he would call me back later that night.

    Didn't get a call and I'm now sitting back on hold for 30 minutes… Also the optus account website seems to be down.

    • From my experiences with Optus call centre, when they said they will call back, i have never receive a call after that.

    • I suspect they are swamped with the flood of orders. If it's not sorted by Monday morning, PM me your email address or phone number I'll send it on to a specialist team.

    Hi, has anyone received confirmation order and check your Contract and Critical Information Summary? I checked my one, it doesn't include any 25%off. I am signing up Iphone 7 plus 128 GB with $85 plan using one of the link, my contract stated that min. total cost is $2592 over 24 months. And it doesn't mentioned any 25% discount, which should be $2082 over 24 months.

    • I suspect the contract is the standard one for that plan. The discount is applied on the second bill (on wards) so it will come as a separate item. If it's not sorted by your second bill, PM me your email address or phone number I'll send it on to a specialist team.

      • hi, is this sim only plan active auto after pay or active by myself when receive the sim card? thank you!

        • Only when you receive the SIM and / or activate it online (sometimes the receipt of the SIM will auto activate it). Won't be active before you get it.

      • Thank you @singingwolf, Hopefully it will be deducted from actual bill but i think Optus should clarify clearly in contract and critical information summary. Otherwise it will bring uncertainty and confusion for the people who sign up for this deal.

    • Yeah my contract contradicts the temporary order.
      The Contract and Critical Information Summary shows the double data, but the 25% off is not mentioned.

      I know it's "probably" going to be put on for the 2nd bill, but really that's poor to not put it in the contract summary.

  • Is data included in $40 deal ($30 after discount) supposed to be 12 GB?
    I have switched from Optus prepaid and when I log in to my account it says data included is 10 GB.
    Still a great deal.

    This morning(7:30am) i signed up for the $40 ( $30 after discount) sim only.

    JUST now. ( 9:16pm) my reception says SOS and when i checked the optus app it says my service has been canceled?

      • Hey, I just did the online chat thing and they told me they were in the middle of porting from prepaid to post paid.
        so it should be fine. only thing that freaked me out is that i didnt get any comfirmation email or anything.
        they were able to use my same sim. so should be good now. thanks for the reply.

        • My wife had a same issue. She was on Optus prepaid. I managed to sign up for $40 plan on Thursday morning. This morning (Friday), without any warning, her service was disconnected (on the phone it said SOS instead of Optus). We received an email about order being sent but no other information. She rang Optus and they told her she had already been transferred to Postpaid and they are sending out new SIM. Luckily after phone reboot service came back on the Postpaid (doesn't look like new SIM is needed).

  • hi, ordered on Wed arvo, received an email with temporary order number and advised would take up to 48Hrs to receive a confirmation email, haven't received anything yet so had a livechat session, was told could not find my order number???
