160

ANZ has changed their Rewards Credit Card product range.

They now offer a $250 Westfield Gift card upon spending $2500 in the first free months.

Card Annual Fee Min Income Min Credit Limit Points Per Dollar and soft cap at $X Points Per Dollar after soft cap
Rewards $80* $15000 $1000 1 ppd first $1000 0.5 ppd
Rewards Platinum Visa $95* $35000 $6000 1.5 ppd first $2000 0.5 ppd
Rewards Black $375* $75000 $15000 2 ppd first $5000 1 ppd

*Annual Fee in the first year is waived.

Until 5 August 2017, the points per dollar earn is uncapped at the higher rate.

Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Rewards card account. This is a limited time only offer which may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice. Not available in conjunction with other offers (except the $0 annual fee waiver for the first year), or packages or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards Platinum, ANZ Rewards or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous twelve months. This offer applies only once per eligible customer.

Analysis: This card no longer provides a companion Amex, restricting points earn and can no longer access Amex offers and benefits . Still, the $250 Westfield GC bonus is good compared to most other credit card opening offers, but the $2500 initial spend requirement could be a bit high for some. It is still a good card to have, and probably is the second best non-Amex sign up offer available with no annual fee right now (first being NAB Rewards Platinum)

    ANZ suck removing amex!

    • For new signups? Are existing customers still able to use their card?

        Existing customers until August 5th

      • You can use your Amex until 5th August 2017, see discussion in the forum: ANZ Are Dropping AmEx

  • What if you pay your rent with the card, could that be considered as spending? Or it has to be retail purchase?

    • You most likely will have to pay a surcharge if you pay rent with it, so at 1.5% surcharge (assuming DEFT), you're paying extra $37.50 for a $2500 rent payment, which means buying a $250 Westfield GC for $37.50.

      • Thank you:)

  • I jumped on the Rewards Travel Adventures card offer a month or so ago, and based on activity it shows I am earning 2 PPD for Amex & 1 PPD for Visa, the OP links to a page which shows earns based on a threshold…what gives?

    • ANZ have changed their credit card offerings as at today. Look at above-linked forum topic.

In short your cards (plural) are good until 5 August, then the Amex is dead.

      • Thanks for the input, I haven't received anything from them in writing yet. Guess it's time to find another offer with a decent sign up bonus & free annual airfare.

        • Neither have I, just got announced on a few points websites today.

          @djkelly69:

Interesting article the forum post linked to - I share the sentiment of other readers, I'm out, there's no reason to keep paying the annual fee if I can't hear 2:1 on Amex.

$250 westfield GC as the signup bonus is a bit cheap vs the 50,000-100,000 points offers out there.

ANZ has the worst call centre and support ever.

No tracking on bonus points, had to provide my FF number 4 times.

ANZ has the worst call centre and support ever.

Not as bad as the Coles Master Card. The call centre is in India, the operators are rude and dismissive.
And I am quite sure they put you on hold on purpose.

      • they put you on hold on purpose.

to answer other calls. have several running concurrently.

  • Literally Just yesterday, they still have Amex Visa Card for 50k points but pay annual fee.

CBA deal is better. $250 cashback after $500 spend.

NAB rewards 80k points for the same $2500 spend is also a better deal.

Get it if you already have those and don't mind flushing your credit history down the toilet though.

    • CBA $250 cashback offer finished in January (to sign up).

Now you only get entered into a draw to possibly win a $5000 flight centre gift card.

$250 with certainty is much better than a 1 in 1000s chance of winning $5000.

  • I have a ANZ VISA Platinum with no yearly fee so the one year fee waiver here is not such a big deal.

They just offered it to me as an free upgrade to a Mastercard and believe me I am not a big spender and they did not ask what I earn.

  • "where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards Platinum, ANZ Rewards or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous twelve months."

I had the ANZ QFF Black card couple of months back, so I assume that's different to the ANZ Rewards Black, so I'm good to apply for this and get the bonus?

  • Can I buy something for $2500, pay it back right away, get my voucher, and close the card? Or do you have to hold the balance for a certain amount of time?

  • FYI, I signed up to this offer back in May and they never sent the gift cards, however i lodged a complaint and they instead credited me $250 to my account.

    • Also did not receive my card. Have made a complaint and hope to hear back from them shortly.
