      Question for Pauline…!?

      • +6

Hey now you can't forget Corey

      • +1

        GOLD!

        • Never!

  • I hope the switch gets a similar drop come Christmas.

    • +1

I don't think we will get a price drop but we should see bundles with Zelda BOTW, Splatoon 2 or SMO during the holiday period

  • are you serious.. i just bought one off target ebay deal… :(

    • +6

Buy this one, return the other one. You're welcome!

      • yep. will do!

        • Same :(..its only $10 saving only

        • +8

          Please return your ozbargain license!!

        • @melb-ourne: yeh $10 saving but it also means i can get carrots points from Eb Games now. im gona return it and get it price matched to get points~

        • +3

          @melb-ourne:
It will end up being more than that. You receipt for the eBay one should say it cost you $559 because Target can't tell if you paid with a voucher and still gets the full amount.

          $489 + $503.10 - $559 = $443.10

        • @durd0008: They normally look at the paypal transaction copy as well and refund the same amount …. Could work though ….

        • @shiraj: I just returned my PS4 and got refunded the full price of $559 so I can confirm that they do not check the Paypal transaction etc.

        • @Nickchooka: Also, if you buy it on a CC, some have price protection for 90 days that could also work, and be a bit easier than return etc

  • +1

    Lowest price so far.

  • +7

Yep deal after deal on the pro, the week I finally bought one. You should all thank me for having it discounted, such is my luck lol.

    • +2

      Yupppp same here =/

    • +1

      Thank you :)

  • +6

I'm scared that my PS4 will break down the moment all these sales are over

    • +2

Don't worry, it'll probably be near or at 400 at Christmas so they can undercut Scorpio hardcore.

      • +4

I think Scorpio will be priced well above the Pro IMO.

        • Yep.
Scorpio = 4k bluray and 6TF GPU performance.
PS4 Pro = FHD bluray and 4.2TF GPU performance.

PS4 Pro deals will drop to around $400. Scorpio should start around $700. They can give it the high list price as they still have the Slim for $300 (sales) as a cheaper entry point.

  • Wow

  • +5

And, bam, just like that, all of the PS4 Pros are gone from the Target eBay site. Was hoping to get 10% off. :(

    • They weren't there yesterday either

  • Wondering if they send this from their warehouse or from store stock?

  • Is there any issue with the launch PS4 Pro?

    • +18

      Yeah, the price.

  • +7

I just got EB Games to match this price and they are happy to do so as it doesn't come bundled with any games

    • +2

Nice. I'm borrowing a mate's pro and I'm tempted to get my own. What to do. What to do.

      • +6

        Get it!

        • +2

          Bah! I got it.

    • +1

Same, they price matched the pro and zero dawn. What a win for a Wednesday.

  • Just hesitating whether to upgrade my old 500gb per to this one. I have a 4k TV. Still not sure if it's worth it.

    • +2

Nioh is great in 1080p 60fps

Horizon is great in 2140p 30fps

Every other game is the same as ever. It's mainly new releases that will show the benefits.

Sony are releasing "boost mode" in the next firmware which improves performance on old titles but it's only a marginal improvement so I'd say hold off if you can, the ps4 pro can't even playback uhd blu ray so you still need an xbox 1s for that (currently the cheapest UHD player)

      • I was reading somewhere that boost mode does pretty well at boosting Frames Per Second.

        • 5-10 FPS boost. AC:U actually runs at full 30 without any drops.. a major difference from the high 20s on OG

        • Depends on the title. I've heard it's usually a 2-5% increase with some rare exceptions. If it makes Bloodborne load any faster I'll be happy.

      • Thank. I think I'll hold it for now.

    • Im in the same boat with the ps4 and xbox one but i'm going to hold out as well.

  • I'm just hoping Sony reduces the PS4 Pro price on the Sony store before my $200 discount voucher expires at the end of March. I doubt I'll be that lucky though, probably going to stay at RRP $559.95.

    • just curious, how did you get the discount voucher?

      • +1

MyRepublic ISP offer, they included $200 PS4 pro discounts on all 12 month gamer plans.

      • duplicate comment

  • I tried to purchase one but failed at the payment step, always got Gateway Timeout even I tried different credit card, different network(company lan or sim card).

    • +1

Finally my transaction went through after my 5th try

  • Price matched this deal at ebgames (a first for me)

  • Already not available?

  • Will EB still price match if it's not available online?

    • It's available in store, so as long as there is a Target near the EB with stock, they will. Also try Big W or JB for price match.

      • Yep, had this this afternoon at BigW. Out of stock online with Target so wouldn't price match, but rung local Target and it was still in stock so had to do the price match.

        • You can use the Target online site to see if it's available in store.

  • Got Horizon Zero Dawn today and my 1200 PS4 is screaming all the time. Maybe time for the Pro?

  • Is it worth getting?

  • Honest question - how do people find the time to game in their adulthood? I've found that study and graduate jobs demand 60-80hrs in a week, with commuting, shopping, family and friends, pets, cleaning, cooking and getting the minimum suggested amount of regular sleep easily filling the other half of the 168 hours in a week. The only way I can envisage gaming being possible is unemployment, sleep deprivation or living in filth. I suppose adopting a mi goreng diet would work also.

    • Your mum has just joined the game

    • With great difficulty. I certainly game at only a fraction of the time I used to spend on it, but I still can. It's more of a case of an hour here, an hour there. Adults are allowed to have hobbies and they've had them even before gaming was a thing.

It just so happens that playing video games is one of my hobbies.

    • It's pretty tough mate - started full time work this year. Between that, seeing friends and family, weekend plans, going to the gym, attending a ridiculous amount of impromptu work drinks and then trying to fit in 7 to 8 hours of sleep, I usually just log in a few hours on Sunday arvo.

God I miss being a uni student hahaha. On the plus side, Nioh + Witcher 3 should take me a year to finish at this rate so I can pick up Horizon later for dirt cheap. Crushing the main story and skipping side quests might be the way to go.

Edit: might also look at grabbing a Nintendo Switch. I spend nearly 3 hours a day sitting on a bus so maybe portable gaming is the answer to get my fix…

    • Sleep deprivation is key to success - also who needs friends when you got NPC's ;)

    • Be like normal people and work 45 hours per week. You can then find time to adequately do everything else you listed AND game.

EB Games was happy to price match the Target offer. They rang the nearest store, and once they found out that the Target store indeed has some stock, they price matched it without any further fuss.

    • My EB Games didn't even bother to check whether the local target had stock or not… Still I already anticipated that they would so I checked it myself prior to visiting.

    • Managed to price-match at EB too, just showed the target website on my phone as they wanted to confirm it was not the U.S Target. Also had to show then the nearby store had stock too

  • just rang JB-HI FI and no dice, despite them ringing the local target store and confirming there is stock

Manager refused to price match and said price was too for them to match. Lowest they can go is $549

    • I wonder why your JB store would even bother ringing to confirm stock when they are not going to price match in the first place.

  • EB price matched for me yesterday, no hesitation. Was able to show local Target had stock on the Target website via my phone, was happy to do it and beat it by $1.

  • Just went to my local JB, they happy to price match

    • can you screenshot the docket please ?

        • I went to 2 jb's, one flat out said no, the other said the best deal they can do is $529. I might give them a call and see if they will price match their own store…

I noticed on your receipt it has 4 items. Did they price match the bundle or console only?

        • +1

thank you so much, i owe you a beer.

I went in again and they flat out said no, but this time i showed them a photo of my local target with stock and also the scanned receipt.

they rang up the Parramatta store to confirm it was legit sale. If one JB hifi did the price match, then they kind of had to honor it as well.

I got to use my ultimate kids gift cards finally and even threw PSN membership as well for the stuff around.

Now i'm playing Horizon Zero Dawn! :)

  • +2

The EB store I went to straight out refused to price match consoles. I walked over to Target 20 meters away and got one there instead. I sometimes wonder why I even bother going to EB stores.

  • ps4pro or ns?

    • +1

      What a strange question

    • LOL they are literally PLANETS apart in difference. IMO hold off on anything to do with the Switch, Nintendo have a fascination in butchering their products… Source: see anything Nintendo touches

Dudes, don't forget to keep an eye on the classifieds in the forums. There are still vouchers from the My Republic deal popping up, going for $100 or less, which will get you a Pro for $459.95 delivered from Sony.

    • I'd rather not take that risk to save that small amount.

      • Use paypal, dont buy from somebody who has just set up a new account. What risk? Plenty of people here have done it, i am yet to hear about any stories of it not working.

        • The risk that they'll simply take the money and run. Don't even think paypal covers these sorts of things. IMO it's not worth it just to save a measly $30.

        • @ChillBro: lol, ok. Well, i was happy to "risk" it, like many others here have done. PS4 Pro for $449.95 delivered from Sony.

    • Yea, thanks for this info. I gotten the $200 voucher for a good price.

  • Finally jumped on this deal, had to show the store staff the link to their own site for them to actually price match it funnily enough.

    • It should scan at the lower price. The staff at the store I went to wasn't aware of the new price but it came up straight away when he scanned it.

      • Did you have to physically go into a Target for this? Could anyone let me know if it can be ordered online too?

        • The Web page clearly says "Unavailable online" . So I am sure you have to go to a store and get it.

        • @Babe: I wasn't able to check this due to a website block at work, but thanks for being so CLEAR

  • Picked one up from Target Erina last night. They have a few (5?) left in stock. $489.
