Just Need Some Uni Laptop Buying Advice

Hi guys, just wondering if you could give me some advice. I am after a laptop for university and already have one in mind:
https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/asus-x206ha-116-inches-quad-c…

Main specs:
* Quad Core x5-Z8350 1.92GHz Intel Atom
* 4GB DDR3
* 32GB eMMC

Main purpose:
* Take notes, write assignments, use microsoft office, browser internet, multitask with multiple documents

It's been a while since I bought a low spec computer, but it wasn't a good experience. That netbook was always pretty slow and currently it struggles opening and closing windows.

So I guess my main worry is that this device will be laggy. Also a bit concerned about the space on this. I think Windows 10 is already 16gb, will it lag if I fill it up too much? I am only going to be installing study related software (other files on portable hard drive), but things can add up fast.

Thank you very much!

    The tasks you described are not CPU intensive although they can be sometimes. If the linked laptop suits your budget, then go for it.

    yeah, thats good. im using a $99 target laptop with atom and it is adequate. mine only has 1gb ram but running windows 8.1 great

    I previously had an X205TA - basically an atom range processor, 2GB ram, 32bit Win10 & 32GB space. Here is my 2 cents worth:

    Pros:
    It is a really great laptop if you need battery life and have light workload. I mean, I loved it for tasks such as this where I could charge it overnight and then bring it around without the charger and have it last 8 - 9 hrs. Its also a very premium looking laptop - not like those shite bulky beasts other cheap laptops tend to be. Did I say it was light and surprisingly sturdy? Storage space wasn't a problem as I got a 128GB microsd for cheap over xmas from Amazon - it fits perfectly in the slot so you can leave it permanently attached for a second internal storage. If these are your requirements, this is a worthy laptop.

    Cons:
    I managed to break mine when I dropped it with the charger plugged in. Twice. The first time it bent the charger port but it still worked. The second time, it shorted something inside. Thankfully all my important data was on the cloud or in the microSD card. I decided not to get another X205 however and this is why.

    The laptop will struggle when multitasking. If you have a one or two documents and a browser open with just a few tabs, it is fine. But Win 10 is RAM hungry and so are browsers and you'll quickly realise that this can be problematic if you start having music or videos playing in the background. The processor also isn't powerful enough to keep up with too many applications and soon you'll notice lag. Connectivity can be a bummer since ports are limited and don't bother plugging it in to external monitors as it will struggle.

    With all that said - if price if a key factor, you can't go wrong with this laptop. Its sturdier than Asus' regular range of laptops and is a really what a netbook should be.
