How to access US Netflix?

I am currently with Windscribe VPN( pro edition, a whole year for $12, unlimited data, OZbargain deal) and it lets me access the US site and lets me create an account but I cant complete my signup. I tried using my Aussie master card(debit) directly and it wont work obviously, then Aussie paypal linked with aussie mastercard, no luck there. Created a US paypal and linked aussie master card, payment still failed.

The last time I used Netflix on my systems was back when they launched it in Australia. I am asking for solutions for few of my friends who are not tech savvy at all. Will Windscribe work with Netflix if the signup was completed? What are my options for completing the final step without getting a credit card?

Smart DNS the way to go or does working VPNs still exist?

Signup to netflix without VPN i.e signup to netflix australia. After your account has been setup then turn on your vpn.

    • interesting, i will try it :)

Also, a lot of VPNs don't work with netflix. I don't have Windscribe VPN so I can't tell you if it will work. I currently use Getflix to access netflix US

My us Netflix is blocked using getflix. I gave up on it many months ago. Is it working now?

        • @spal: Used it just last week. Pretty sure it still works although the slow speeds means it takes a few minutes to show HD.

        • @ChillBro: Thanks mate. I will give it a go. I have the dns forwarding setup on my netgear router, maybe I should try at the device level.

          @spal:
I follow their Facebook and there is a problem on one of their US servers.. Maybe you're connected to that one (you can't choose anymore).
We've not had any Netflix/Getflix issues for at least 4 months.

        • @spal: Try clearing the cookies etc on your web browser and try again.

Vanished VPN. I use it and with a bit of tinkering you can get it work on an Android OS 4K TV so you don't have to use Googlecast/Chromecast via a smartphone/computer

    • interesting. Any links on how to do this?

      • I cannot recall where I found the instructions, but basically I had to sideload "OpenVPN Connect" on to the TV.

I think that I downloaded the App on my phone, then used an APK extraction app to get the App. The transferred a copy of the APK on to a USB. Used a file explorer to open it on the TV and installed it.

After installing it, opened OPEN VPN Connect, and used the "USA.VPN" file that I downloaded from Vanished VPNs website.

You can set it up to automatically boot the App and connect to the VPN when you turn on the TV, but I found that it meant that the TV would cold-boot every time you turned it one, meaning it would take about 45 seconds to start up.

If you do not automatically boot and connect the VPN, then you have to close Netflix (in settings) then start up the VPN.

Also, if you have the VPN operating then none of the freeview apps will work (iView, SBS on demand etc).

Ultimately it may be easier to just use it on your phone and Chromecast it.

    Genuine question

Is there actually any point of getting US netflix now that the Australian library has very close to the number of content to the US?

You seem to get a lot more US tv shows and movies but also lose a lot of Australian exclusives, also lose a bit of speed

    • My shows are only on netflix us sadly.
