27" 1440p Monitor for <$350?

Hey guys, currently hunting a bargain on a 1440p monitor. My faithful Yamakasi Catleap recently gave up the ghost (logic board failure) and looking at a replacement. Old-school dual-link DVI connectivity is fine (Core2Quad rig still going strong), is primarily used as a work monitor and is generally for documents, spreadsheets and general web browsing. I like to run my setup at native pixel mapping due to the fact that I need to run legacy software in VMs from time to time, so I'd like to avoid monitors smaller than 27" and 4K displays. Any panel should be fine, as long as it isn't crappy TN with poor colours. I've heard Samsung PLS monitors are decent.

Only found a couple within my budget:

I vaguely recall buying my Yamakasi for around $290, shame I can't get it at that price still (I blame the $USD). Any other suggestions worth considering before I jump on one of the above? If so, which would be best, the X-Star or the QNIX?

Comments

  • I've got a second hand Qnix last time from eBay for $190. 4 years now and still going strong.

  • I got a Qnix as my second monitor and it's going great. Really good value for money monitor if you dont really care about the branding in front but they usually use LG or Sammy panels anyway.
