AFL Live Streaming to PC

  • Hi All,
Just a simple question about whether it is possible to watch AFL footy live through a home PC.
Telstra, Foxtel and the AFL are all unable to help as their AFL service is not available through a PC
A tablet is too small, and there is not a TV in the house, so am somewhat surprised that in 2017 the only medium you are unable to watch live footy on is a PC!

Hope that there is a solution out there…..

  • What about using Chromecast on the PC via your mobile?

  • Get a chromecast or apple tv and mirror your phone. Job done! This is how I watch it on my tv.

    • I have followed all the instructions to do this but when i try to cast from my phone to the TV through the PC, a message comes up saying that video recording is not allowed. I don't want to record the game, i just want to watch it.

      Any help would be appreciated.

  • Get an Android x86 Virtual Machine image and run the Android AFL Live app in the Virtual Machine.
    eg

    • Actually an even better idea. Run Remix OS or Remix OS Player on your pc.

      • Definitely a better idea, but installing a new OS is a pretty committed step!

        • Remix OS Player runs as a VM on the pc but yes Remix OS requires installation to a usb or a partitioned HDD.

  • They make it hard because they want you to subscribe to Fox Footy, they even limited the AFL Live app live footy screen size to 7" on a tablets this year.

  • I believe the blackout for PC is lifted this year:

"Another change with the new rights deal is the lifting of Foxtel Play's total AFL blackout for PCs and Macs"

    And for example:

Create an account on Crownbet and watch all games live (slight delay of a min or so)

    • Hi All,
Thanks for the great choice of solutions, and a special well done to RM.
Have created a free account with Crownbet, you download their App and then each game is broadcast through the site, so it looks like we have a winner!
No pre-season matches, so will try for the first time next week in Round 1.
What a great Forum to find simple solutions!

    Cheers…..

    • How did this work out with Crownbet? It reads that it only streams to android or iOS apps and not to PCs.
( I am wanting PC streaming)
