Writing a Registration of Interest? Help Please

Hello,

I am studying an education degree and have an opportunity to undertake part of my practical placement overseas. In order to be considered for the opportunity, I have been asked to write and submit a 1-page registration of interest.

I have never had to write one of these before.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you ;).

Explain why you want to do it.

Why going to the country you are going to would be beneficial

Why you think you would be a good candidate

I don't know from any personal experience, but I would be inclined to set out your personal unique qualifications to be selected, and ways that you might bring unique advantage to the host country.
From other posts you aren't a 19yro kid, so I would be discussing your maturity, links to the wider community, ability and willingness to get involved in the host institutions community, overcome challenges and see through to success things you begin and other personal strengths you would bring. If you had things like involvement in music or community theatre or sport or art or other things that are sort of aligned to the direct role teachers play, I would definitely mention them and your desire to enrich your own community's horizons, but also the potential for your hosts to benefit from the things we do here.

So in short, I think it is an opportunity to sell yourself for all the things except your academic & teaching skills, which hopefully will already be demonstrated by your academic transcript.
