Purchased a house and now Air Con not working :(

I purchased a residential house(Not New) 8 months ago. The seller was kind enough to leave me the invoice for the split system air con which is still within its warranty period. Upon contacting the manufacturer I was first told that they would organise a service agent to come out to the property and inspect the unit. 2 weeks later I have contacted them again and now they are stating they need either a ARA or AWA certificate, I presume this is something to do with installation and is something I do not have. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered something like this before and any advice about how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

why not give them another ring, explain your EXACT situation, and ask them what they need

maybe they could even use an email device to type a letter and interweb it to you explaining what they would like

    • great advice

  • What brand as I have never had to show that for a Panasonic warranty job.

  • All you need is the proof of purchase. My aircons were installed as cash jobs so I never had an invoice. One failed and got fixed under warranty.

    • That would be the desired outcome, wife and 4 month old at home are not happy.

      • what brand? please dont say kelvinator.

If they're really not happy just pay to get to it replaced with a known brand. Will work out better in the long run.

  • Hi there,

Here is a link for their warranty conditions however it is for the Portable Air Conditioner. But I would be very confident that this will apply to many of their products.

It seems that you have to liaise with their service center "AWA" to lodge a claim. Section B (Billet point #3)

They should have pointed you to the right direction.

I mean you do have the original invoice. I'm not sure if they require an Electrical Certificate for the installation.

    Cheers
