if you want it to the next step ,Drama King, Now now wheres the OZbargain team member detail?

  • Still no update on mine (no grays email either)
Can people confirm if their cancellation was on the Ultra or the Extreme

My Order was for the extreme

    • Mine was for the Ultra, received the email and voucher earlier this arvo.

    • Mine is extreme and received email.

    • Ultra & recieved first email. Waiting for the refund one…

  • +1

Got the error $20 email too, but no email on refund yet. Purchased from their site. Mine was for extreme

  • Wonder what they r trying to achieve. They even relisted some ssd on the second day D:

  • I get they're a business so selling for a loss is problematic, for purely academic purposes (no I have no intention of escalating this): I don't recall seeing T and Cs on their eBay page or adverts allowing them to cancel an order for price errors.

Curious if anyone can explain that to me? On their website it's there somewhere about pricing errors but on the eBay advert.

I don't know how to say this more unequivocally, just want to know out of curiosity.

    • you can argue as much as you like, even if its not in ebay t&c.

they will just quote the law, pricing errors are permitted. they won't fill the order and you will need to lodge a paypal claim which they will refund (eventually). you can leave neg feedback, but it won't result in getting your order.

      • True. What law can they quote? (Asking as it's interesting)

        • consumer law. somewhere on the ACCC site.

I got one email about the cancellation.
    I bought 3 separate auctions.
1 ssd then another after seeing I had a $30 voucher and also bought the CF cards.

I'm guessing the email was for all 3.

It was worth a shot if it got honoured, although a few people are overreacting a bit. Deep down we all knew it was an error.

  • When do we get our refund back Rep?

  • +1

What to buy with the $20 voucher?

  • +2

Just got the email too…. :( but still no refund..

We’ve identified you as being affected by a recent technical issue in regard to a purchase made with GraysOnline. We are sorry that you didn’t have a good experience. Therefore‚ as a token of goodwill‚ we’ve popped a $20 voucher code to spend on GraysOnline in this email to help make up for it.

  • Just got my PayPal refund, and a weird eBay case too.

    Transaction end: 09-Mar-2017
    Seller: graysonline-australia
    Case type: Cancel transaction
graysonline-australia has sent you a request to cancel this transaction.
Seller selected the following reason: Other.
    Additional information from seller:

How would you like to respond?
I accept the seller's request to cancel this transaction.

You should only accept the cancellation request if you haven't paid yet or you've already received your refund from the seller. If you haven't received your refund, contact the seller
I decline the seller's request to cancel this transaction.

Apparently we can choose to decline the cancellation. Anyone brave enough to try to go down that path?

    • +2

Accepting the cancellation will restrict your ability to leave negative or neutral feedback for this transaction.

If you want to leave negative or neutral feedback you will need to wait until 7 days have past since the order was placed, then you can accept the cancellation.

The cancellation is required for ebay to refund Grays their ebay fees from the sale.

Accepting the cancellation will restrict your ability to leave negative or neutral feedback for this transaction.

Forgot about that so almost made a big mistake. Thanks pinchies! :)

so much talk of negs, but none left, you are all weak

    • +1

You have to wait 7 days before you leave feedback for a power seller…

      • OHHHHH OK!
no wonder, i was so disappointed to see none.

        • But now we can all see your ignorance.

    • +1

if they fall below 98% positive feedback they're no longer a power seller.

  • Oh well, didn't hurt to try! Got the voucher email, but nothing about refunding my money yet… :/

  • +6

even then, a simple email from a power seller and eBay will promptly remove the negative feedback. they protect their money cows..

  • +1

DO NOT ACCEPT Greys ebay cancellation. If you accept it you can no longer give negative feedback.

    • you probably cant get your money back either, or it would be harder. i mean, why bother, just accept it and move on.

      • why? i have already got my money back from them?

        • ah i see, it is separate, i thought the ebay cancellation would be needed to trigger paypal or other refund.

sure, you can respond, or ignore it (i will probably just ignore it). neg feedback can be removed as noted above.

pray for another cx300 750gb on amazon.

        • @insular: I certainly could go another one of those :)

  • I haven't formally been notified of it being cancelled, I only got this slightly cryptic email (cryptic because I have not received an email that says 'cancel' or 'can't fulfil' or 'refund', just a 'recent technical issue'):

We’ve identified you as being affected by a recent technical issue in regard to a purchase made with GraysOnline. We are sorry that you didn’t have a good experience. Therefore‚ as a token of goodwill‚ we’ve popped a $20 voucher code to spend on GraysOnline in this email to help make up for it.

graysonline-australia recently opened a cancel transaction case for an item you recently purchased: Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD 960G SATA III SDSSDXPS-960G.

Reason for cancel transaction request: The seller did not provide a specific reason.

    haha, no reason.

    • no reason, means no reason for you to accept it.

  • +4

still no email, no cancel, no refund.

    WTF?!?!

    • +1

Same for me, the terrible customer service is the biggest problem here imo

      • +1

still no email, no cancel, no refund.

Yep. Piss poor. I can live with a pricing error, it happens, no problem. Hanging onto our money for now 6 days is pathetic.

I never leave NEG feedback, but they have well and truly earned one. Roll on Thursday night (earliest opportunity to leave a NEG).

    • +1

      Same here

  • Already used my $20 voucher to buy the American Crew forming cream for $4 delivered.

    • Have you got your voucher already??

      • Yes

Such a let down…. Was looking forward to a near 1TB SSD for under $200 purchased from website instead of ebay

  • For those guys that haven't gotten an email yet, check the promotions tab in Gmail as the email comes from [email protected]

My "technical issue" email went to the inbox and the offer email went to promotions

    ymmv

  • my Ebay order was cancelled with no reason given. So I rejected the cancellation as I've missed out on a couple of other SSDs. It's not like this is the first time Grays have done this. There should be consequences for their repeat time wasting errors.

don't forget the ebay negs people

    • There's a war going on … in the comments section
I look forward to hearing the outcome of the ozbargain brodens and hopefuls vs Grays battle.

  • Has anyone received their $20 voucher yet?

    • I have for a purchase direct from Gray's not eBay.

  • dodgy company,cancel my order

  • I got one refund…Have 3 transactions.

I used the $30 voucher for one but haven't seen it pop back in my ebay.

    • EMAIL EBAY.

      • Will do mate. Just waiting on the other refunds to see if it turns up.

    • You'll need to call eBay re. your $30 code. They will generate you a new one with a 1 month expiry. It won't automatically reappear. I did this this morning.

      • Thanks mate.

  • +1

Greys are TERRIBLE. I didn't buy this SSD, but they have cancelled my X1 Carbon order claiming

"It is with much regret I advise that we are unable to fulfil your recent purchase listed above.

Due to a technical error causing a stock discrepancy, we have sold out of the product. A refund of $810.95 is in the process of being completed and funds will be transferred back to you via your original payment method.

I would like to assure you that this is a rare occurrence; we take every measure to minimise the likelihood of this happening. Please accept my sincere and genuine apology for any inconvenience or disappointment that this may have caused. "

Such BS! How can they be so far off the mark by advertising 30. I got in with less than half that number sold. Are they honestly that incompetent? There was someone who bought 5 systems for himself who got in just before me, wonder if he had his cancelled! And it is very clear that this is not a "rare occurrence" but the total opposite. Thoroughly disappointed and you can be sure they will be getting negative eBay feedback and negative product review from me.

    • +2

Wonder if their staff "bought" the items themselves for resale aka the Dick Smith shuffle hence things are sold out all of a sudden.

    • +1

Textbook bait advertising, I'd say report them but I doubt anything would happen.

      https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/shopping/advertising-and-pro…

      • It probably wouldn't go anywhere. I'd like to know who had their order shipped and where in the purchase history they sit. If anything can be done by the ACCC then that would be great, but I am sure a large company like them has it all worked out. Shame on Greys, I was really excited about that purchase as it was exactly what I need right now. Now I am out of pocket + wasted time and going to have to spend a lot more money and try to find another laptop that suits.

        • How are you out of pocket?

        • @payton: having to wait for the refund. Waiting for their response to my message, if unsatisfactory I will start a paypal chargeback.

  • +2

Next time someone posts a graysonline deal it should be titled "free $20 voucher"…

But then Broden will buy them all, one at a time, just to get a whole heap of free vouchers. Then probably sell the vouchers on Gumtree.

  • "Hi Valued Customer,

I emailed them yesterday to explain how they could have the same error across two sites and 3 different products on each. That is 6 separate stuff ups and then it took someone 6 days to notice and realise a refund was in order, then we have to wait longer for the refund. I was very clear and polite and asked a lot of questions. This is the response I got, the entire email.

    "Hi XXXX,
We do have limited information regarding the cause of the error.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this matter has caused. I hope that the email you received has clarified the matter."

We have an idea of how many were sold on ebay Extreme Pro (1100 or so x say $200 = $200k, someone said 864 CF cards x $72 = $62k, then add on the Ultra and we don't even know how many went through the grays online site, but if similar numbers could be close to half a million in funds processed. This is no small stuff up. Yes it was a pricing error, but was it really accidental, 6 times… I doubt it.

    • +2

      just leave them negs

      byebyegraysonline

    • Yep that's why I ended up attempting to buy it. First off it was a 'This is a pricing error for sure. So I wont bother' I went to gray's site to see what the actual price should have been. Then I went well eBay's price matches their site (counting eBay fees etc) so maybe it isn't a error.. As how could someone make such a big boo boo twice?? Or as you put it 6 times for the 3 different items.

Even if I get a $20 voucher I doubt I'm ever going to use it or even bother with grays for anything for quite a while.
Depending on scale any businesses that ruffle my feathers end up on the bad list for 2-5 years.

      • +1

As how could someone make such a big boo boo twice??

Exactly how could they. Have a look at the eBay listings and check the amount of revisions too, wasn't like it was priced wrong then left until it was discovered some time after. Some one should have caught it, no excuses.

As consumers all we can do is go by what it states on their listings and it IS there responsability too make sure its correct. This isn't the first time its happened with Gray's so no wonder all the anger towards them.

Even if I get a $20 voucher I doubt I'm ever going to use it or even bother with grays for anything for quite a while.

Same, not going to use it. Next time maybe they should do an old fashioned "$20 voucher for new sign ups" instead of this…umm.. mistake. :P

  • -8

MOst people knew this was a pricing error but still bought anyway… Now they want to leave negative feedback to hopefully destroy a business hiring real employees that need to feed their family. All of this was probably due to some hired outsourced staff in a 3rd world country. They've given everyone $20, which I think is fair for 10 minutes work (placing your order). Yes, the delay afterwards was lousy, but I'm pretty sure they probably freaked out at what occurred and decided to "wait" a couple of days for it to die down before issuing refunds. What company wants to accept a mistake when their deal is on the frontpage of OzBargain.

When the exact thing occurred to Amazon France a few months ago, everyone just accepted it and walked away. Amazon did not get a single bad rep post, but it seems when the target is easier to pick on, we decide to take them down.

    • +6

      You work for grays?

    • +4

They have a bad history of issues like this, and my issue above, repeating themselves time and time again. If they can't learn from their mistakes they deserve to fail. I was thrilled about my purchase and they have waited a day before telling me they had an "error" and can't fulfil the order. Why would you advertise what you don't have. It seems like they are just baiting people. It annoys me that others will receive their order and mine has been cancelled when I was fairly early to buy, and over 15 more after my purchase were supposed to be available. A huge let down because this is exactly what I needed right now and was was expecting it tomorrow.

      • ahh ok, I didn't realize they made multiple issues like this before. If that is the case, perhaps they need to work on their backend systems, as it is doing major rep damage to their brand and no I do not work for Greys.

  • Anyone got a refund who bought through eBay? Still waiting.

    • Yeah I got a refund for two out of three transactions a few minutes ago…Have the CF cards to be refunded for.

  • Nope, also bought through ebay and no refund. Have the cancel email from ebay though…

edit: not sure why that didn't appear under MissKitty's post.

  • Just got this email from ebay…

"Please agree to cancel your recent purchase.

graysonline-australia recently opened a cancel transaction case for an item you recently purchased: Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD 960G SATA III SDSSDXPS-960G.

Reason for cancel transaction request: The seller did not provide a specific reason.

Click the "Respond now" button to accept or decline this cancellation."

    DECLINE.

    • I also did this for the kicks, I already had $60 refunded because it took some out of my paypal and bank so the paypal balance was refunded already, hoping they might let a few out :P

      • Haha yeah. I mean, at least work for your screw-up, Grays. "Reason: other". Try again.

  • +3

If we have received our refund, but we decline grays request to cancel this sale, are there any repucussion on us, the purchaser? Eg, can Grays/ebay charge us again? Quite frankly, peeved at the time it took them to sort this out - they prob made a load in interest from our money, they left eBay feedback and however questionable the sale was, it's grays, an auction house that can have very cheap items, so not impossible.

My intent is: 1. Potential legal standing for them to honour this deal, unlikely I know or, most realistic option is 2. Leave negative feedback for the absolutely woeful response time and unbelievable excuse.

    • Interest in would no way cover the $20 vouchers, even if only 10% of them were used.

    • Nothing for the buyer, and you can't leave negative feedback for 7 days. They automatically cancelled my dispute where I didn't agree to their cancellation.
