Wow I didn't think CF was still a thing.

    • +4

CF still in use for a lot of higher end DSLRs.

      • Yep, true!

I bought 2 of these, hopefully they can post the cards out instead of giving me refunds.

    • Great write speeds make them one of the best options for professional photography. CFast is becoming an even better option with speeds that rival 2.5" SSDs.

      • Why keep using IDE though?

there are now "compact flash" cards that actually use SATA or PCIe interfaces, but I'm not sure if they have caught on.
Why not just use the m2 format? - wrapped in a plastic cover if needed.

        • +2

Because people with several-years-old cameras need the old CF format. It's the card of choice for really top-end professional DSLRs, and those don't come cheap. Professionals don't just buy a new camera on a whim because there's a slightly newer version, and they make up the majority of the market for expensive high-capacity CF cards.

        • @TheRealCJ:

Not only old cameras come with CF slot - my Nikon D810 from 2015 has dual slot for MicroSDXC and CF.

You can set up both slots in different modes (mirror, overflow, RAW to one card/JPEG to another).

    • +3

You could use it to upgrade an old iPod with an adapter

  • Why are their USB flash drives so expensive?
    http://stores.ebay.com.au/GraysOnline-Australia/Drives-Stora…

    • probably the same reason the 960gb ssd's are so cheap…

  • Haha wow, someone bought 20.

    • when I posted 2 where sold now its 176 lol

      • +5

        Someone bought 42. Brodening hard.

        Edit: 60 lol.

It's actually cheaper to purchase in bulk on their own website. 10 units on the website cost $579 vs $719.50 on eBay. That's a saving of 20%.

  • +3

Here we go again. Must be one disgruntle worker or he is on drug.

    • +8

      Just one drug?

      • This made my day

  • Why would someone have reported this post?

    • was me thought I was posting old technology, what can I say im not tech savy lol

  • +2

There has been at least 30 purchases but only 11 pos for OP. People not sharing the love around.

  • +1

LOL…. someone tmr. will have a very busy day……..

  • I would not wonder when they send out the 16GB version … hehe …will be lots of fun returning the item and getting the money back.

    • you are on to something!

  • Wow! Bought one, let's see how it goes.

  • Jumped on this as well as the SSD…Would rather they honor this than the SSD deal.

  • +1

    375 sold in one hour~~~~

  • +1

Bought 2 each from ebay and their website, just incase one channel gets cancelled

  • +1

What are the chances of Graysonline selling fakes?

  • got 1… have a feeling that this isn't going to end well………

  • -4

    10

  • -3

no use for even 1 but ordered 10 anyway

  • 519 sold in 24 hours…. yea thats about right, goodluck!

    • i bet you the final tally is 777 sold

  • Just buy it for the feedbacks

  • Hope this works in my canon 7D.

    • +1

      it does

  • Man… A tiny part of me is hoping this gets cancelled so I didn't just soend $500 to have 2 more SSDs and a CF lying around.. But the ozbargain part of me is so hopeful for a great bargain.

  • +8

got one.. don't know what it is

  • This is crazy, I just bought a 128GB version USD$100+
Possibly the cheapest price in the world, just bought 2

  • Is this a price error?

  • -1

Will this still work in say a dash cam,IP camera or an old Nikon D 3100?

    • No, no and no.

  • Just check they are not fakes - google it

  • +1

Bought one…might chuck it into an old ipod…if it even supports 256gb?

  • Wow, awesome! Thanks, bought one.

  • I think this is supposed to be 16gb because of the second image of the listing.

I don't need it but let me know if you guys get it!

    • "second image of the listing" — good point, didn't even notice.

  • Get in quick they are going fast, lol.

  • Hopefully they honour it.. but seriously do they even have enough stock? Seems like they sold a ga-zillon CF cards and SSDs in the last 24 hours.

  • It's gone on ebay, looks like they remove the list - means it's an error.

    • Sold out from graysonline as well.

    • shows it as

This item is out of stock.

      • I typed as quick as I could. Top marks to the moderator when I refreshed the page it showed expired. :P

  • Bought one but after looking at my old nikon D700 , it has dual slots so come back and bought another, thanks OP.

    • The d700 just has one card slot.

      • +1

Oh , I mistake with the D3s , yes I looked at D3s , it has dual slots ,sorry .

  • +1

yeah, nah, this one ain't happening

  • +2

a price error for sure. let's see what happen next.

  • I've already got a feed back from Gray online , may be it is generated automatically , let see.

    • Yea, eBay sellers can set to automatically provide feedback when payment is received. It doesn't mean anything. Where's the pos for OP?

  • Excellent communication. A+++ Highly recommended.

  • Says RRP $69 which is very interesting. ;) I have genuine need for this and missed out so if someone gets one and realises they can't use it please PM me.

  • Damn it, I missed out. I blame it on the people who purchased in bulk like 15x, 30x… :)

Same as above please if someone has extra I would like to get one, thanks in advance.

  • Ahh damn, snooze, lose…

I'm still using a 16GB card in my 7D….. Hard to find CF cards around these days…

Damn it, I missed out. I blame it on the people who purchased in bulk like 15x, 30x… :)
Same as above please if someone has extra I would like to get one, thanks in advance.

    Yeah, damn Brodens :P

    • MSY sell them, along with most camera stores.

    • +1

      (profanity) Brodens hate them… :)

Buy 5x of them and sell it is ok dont make it like 50x of them, he should understand the value of this community.

Actually what we should have is when someone posts a deal it should have the option to exclude certain people, community benefits are more important than 1 single individual! :D

  • +2

Grays have removed all Sandisk products from their website today. Last night there were several pages of them when I did a search.

  • 864 sold. Ouch. I think ebay helps power sellers whitewash their feedback during disasters. Will be interesting to watch. ($400ish on Amazon US right now.)

    • I think you lose the feedback option once the sale is cancelled.

      • +1

you can still leave and receive feedback once the sale is cancelled.

another interesting thing, ebay offer 50% off the next 3 items I sell if I close unpaid item dispute that I opened. —> basically letting those annoying buyer a free pass???

        • it's annoying ive sold items and the buyer just never paid, plus their ratings don't get affected because you cannot leave a negative

  • Anybody else got no word from eBay or Grey's beyond the paypal/eBay purchased email?

  • something is going on. Look at the SSD deal and now this CF card deal.

  • +1

Just got an email asking if I want to purchase extended warranty!

  • +4

I got an update email, it's shipping out.

    • Holy crap! Looking good

    • probably a 16gb card

      • +1

I would rage so hard if they did, since you'd have to deal with sending the items back. I would rather all orders get cancelled and fully refunded instead in that case.

    • when did you purchase it? will actually be so surprised if they send the item as described.
but now ill end up with something i don't really need hahah

      • haha then you can sell it to me, someone who needs it!

        • If my order actually gets sent out

      • I bought it on Friday

    • I think that they're still dealing with logistic because there are too much shipping out at once.
      I got this email reply:

"Thank you for contacting Grays eBay Customer Service.

I can confirm that your parcel is now in the process of dispatching the order."

  • +1

I've just received the cancellation email as below

    • Yeap just got the email too

      • Got the same one… :(

    • ….the product is unavailable….

Not really true though is it, just they don't want to sell it for the price they listed it at.

  • +2

They gonna be getting 800+ negative feedbacks lol

    • Leave feedback on; http://www.productreview.com.au/p/grays-online.html

Where Ebay won't be able to erase it.

    • +7

No negative from me … everyone makes sometimes mistakes and this one was a very obvious one.
See it positive … you got a $20 voucher. Not every shop would do this.

      • +2

the oz bargainer in me want to give them a negative feedback but I agree with you @mini_wombat…. mistake happens…. i went into the transaction knowing that it's highly unlikely that it will be fulfilled… sure i did really wanted the CF card for my camera but i wasn't betting on getting this too good to be true deal…. a $20 voucher is not too bad an outcome and i might actually end up buying something with them with the voucher….

      • Same. I bought with the expectation that it would be cancelled, and minor hope that it would go through. I'm more than happy with 2x $20 vouchers, one from the Grays website and one from eBay.

      • Yeah nah i won't be leaving one. Don't wanna destroy someone business just buy one mistake their employees made.
