Original 20% off Selected Tech Stores at eBay

Cheapest I've seen after tracking prices for the past month, prices not jacked up for the sales either.

Bought one myself together with a Olympus 60mm macro f2.8 that I've been eyeing for $415 after 20% off.

Now just gotta look for a Samyang 12mm to complete my jump from Canon.

  • Is that macro lens a MFT lens? Or do you need the adapter?

    • +1

Yes it is a native MFT lens. There are also different focal lengths in 30mm and 45mm macro MFT lenses by Panasonic.

  • I just bought this camera with 12-40mm last Wednesday for $1800. Would have saved $200 even though I knew this same was coming. Need to learn to control myself.

Anyway, can you please tell me more about the Samyang 12mm? I am looking to get Olympus 17mm f1.8 but 12mm sounds better.

    • 12mm is the widest (there's a 10mm) non-fish eye prime in m43 where the 17mm is better for general use.
Samyang 12mm/f2 is manual focus only, but in my case that doesn't matter for landscape and landscape astro photos. About $300 cheaper than the Olympus 12mm which has AF.

Have you looked at the Pan-Leica 15mm/f1.7?
I've played with it for a bit and really liked it, don't know where it stands against the Oly 17mm/1.8 though.

Edit - Just noticed you got it with the 12-40mm. Why the primes for the same focal length then? To cut down on weight?

      • I am looking to get a prime to have a light weight set up when we travel. I used the camera over the weekend and really liked having bit of zoom and wide angle. So might use the current lens for a little while before investing another $500.

  • Congrats Blackfyre!
