  • Gamdias ARES-GKC6011 7-Colour Membrane Keyboard + OUREA FPS Optical Mouse - $29 (was $55)

Hmm was that the $49 one?

    Nope, that was mechanical

    • Yeah, the email was pretty specific about it being a membrane keyboard. No idea what the quality is like, though.

  • how good is a rx-470 compared to say, a gtx 1060? my gtx 970 died a month or so ago and i can't get it rma'ed cause i bought it overseas. currently using my old gtx 560ti right now.

    • If I'm right, rx480 is the equivalent to 1060, which means 1060 should be reasonably better than 470.

    • +1

Its slower than your GTX 970 by a small amount, and slower than the GTX 1060 still.

      http://media.gamersnexus.net/images/media/2016/gpu/rx-470/rx…

The RX 480 is on-par with the GTX 970 and is also neck in neck with GTX 1060.
      basically:

➡ from slowest to fastest ➡
      RX 470 > GTX 970 > RX 480 8GB ⇼ GTX1060

      • Seems like I would be best off just buying a 1060 from the eBay Cyber deal then, no?

        • +3

Unless you have a g-sync monitor, I'd probably recommend the rx 480. Performs on par with gtx 1060 on Dx11 and outperforms on Dx12. Freesync monitors are also cheaper than g-sync, should you decide you want the technology in the future.

        • @iMagoo:

in terms of what else, rx 480 outweighs 1060, sir? has dx12 been released yet? or is freesync better than g-sync?

        • +2

@baldur: As I said, it's roughly even for Dx11 titles (0-2% difference) and slightly better for Dx12 titles (4-6% better, and yes they exist) http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/reviews/video_cards/gtx-1060-…. Freesync is not better than g-sync, it's just a cheaper technology to adopt (compare almost any freesync monitor to a counterpart g-sync monitor for reference).

  • Can someone tell me what they think of the Gamdias ARES-GKC6011 keyboard?

    • I have a mechanical gamdias keyboard, they work well for the price.
Although I only bought mine because it was cheap as chips.
I wouldn't buy a full price one, there is far better value for money out there.

  • does anyone order online to pickup from these bozos?

    • I have done about five times at Plympton SA store and always been OK.
