    • Cheap wine in a Vino or Blanc?

  • Based on reviews I've read, the wine is actually pretty decent.

      It's dynamite.

Looks like there's a couple of decent Gray's wine deals there,
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mystery-Adelaide-Hills-Cabernet-S… - This is the Wolf Blass White Label cab sauv, probably not worth $50 but a pretty good drop at $20 a bottle.

    • thanks a bunch for that link.
looks like I got the last one!

  • +1

I pulled the trigger on this one.

Dan Murphy sells these for $60 a bottle

  • Anyone know why I can't use my amex card on paypal for this purchase?

I've linked both my Visa and Amex on paypal, but when I check out and pay, only my Visa card was visible.

I tried ticking "pay by credit card" then a new window came up saying something like "this payment option is not available with this voucher applied, please choose another payment option"

    WTF?

    • Hasn't worked for me in the past either, I think Graysonline must be disabling Amex somehow.

    • -1

AMEX charge 5% plus commission, i would not take AMEX either

  • +1

That means this merchant doesn't accept AmEx. I see that more and more with PayPal payments.

    • ahhh ok, that sucks. I thought the whole point of paypal is to bypass CC Surchages from Amex

So I'm guessing guys like Telstra and Elec/Gas companies will disable AMEC CC from Paypal soon since they charge surcharges from AMEX / Visa payments but not from paypal.

  • Bought a dozen, will make great gifts, in particular secret santas.

    • Do all bottles come in their own wine box? Looks like it from the pictures but couldn't tell from the description.

      • Nah looks like the box is for the half dozen.

      • +2

Yes, each bottle is in a gift box.

        • Oh that's great!!

    • lol, I wish I had you as a secret Santa. No way I would waste these on Secret Santas gifts, cost waayy too much :P

  • Can anyone use the code of CYBER? I cannot apply it when check out.

  • Just bought 6, cyber works fine (lower case in my case)…..Hopefully these are as good as the price….

  • +1

Still available and lower case cyber works - also it states each bottle is in a gift box

  • +1

These will make great gifts and if people google the wine (who doesn't?) they will see it's worth $60 at Dan's.

  • Just a minor warning, based on a bottle I tried yesterday (from a previous gift received), this isn't really worth cellaring any longer unless you like your wines really mature and mellow. Buy for gifts or drink now.

  • +2

For those about to drink, we salute you

  • BOUGHT. THANKSSSS OP~

  • Doesn't work with AMEX. I tried and it comes up with some weird unrelated error. Works fine with Visa

  • Très Bon.Grabbed a sixie.

  • Thanks I'll give it to Rosie & see what I get ;)

  • pulled the trigger. hopeing not to regret it.

  • Thanks OP just bought a case :)

  • No longer working?

  • Anyone found a proper review of the wine? Or anyone who tried it already can comment?
Yes it's a significant discount but if it's just good but not great I will still pass

  • -3

Wine… …Paying homage to AC/DC!? Not unless it's the cheapest wine on earth, that causes you to suffocate on your own vomit.

This equates to styling a white wedding gown in homage to Madonna.

    Just ridiculous.

  • +5

Just had a bottle at lunch with a friend. It is an amazing wine 9/10. Not your typical Barossa gutsy BallBreaker but has a lot of finesse having been matured in French oak as well as American for 2 years. Very European feel Hardly any tannin as it is 7 years old and I reckon you can easily keep it for 5-7 years more. Clearly a marketing disaster with the packaging.

Most definitely worth $20, FairValue would be $50 in my books. Glad I bought it, many thanks to OP. Now I can drink up my oldies below 2010!!!

  • I'm assuming that it's probably this wine https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_30618/warburn-premi… in a fancy bottle which goes for $9 a pop. And of course the vintage is different but back in 2010 (the vintage of the assumed ACDC one) the warburn shiraz was going for $6 bottle. Now cheap doesn't always mean bad but if it is the same wine, then the "bargain" isn't as big as it appears if wine quality is your concern. Maybe that's why Grays got their hands on it?
This is all just assumption and i could be completely wrong.

Hi there - I can confirm that this is not the case. This wine was a separate, super-premium parcel exclusively sourced for the creation of this wine. If you have any more questions regarding this wine - feel free to message me privately.

      • Messaged you re this wine

    • umm no, that's not the wine that you've linked. I've received mine and its definitely this one here which is $60 per bottle https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_767518/ac-dc-platin…

Edit: I've just ordered another 6 pack :)

      • He is referring to the actual wine in the bottle, i.e. the same grapes/bin being used in the AC/DC bottle.

        • oh……can't comment on that sorry. Interesting theory tho.

        • @HarveySpecter:

I can attest to it not being correct.
The AC/DC wine is actually very good and of a high quality.

        • @swimmingtoad: ahhh thanks. I just ordered another 6 pack. Even though the cyper 20% just expired by midnight, I used the 5% ebay sitewide discount code which made it $142.50 and its still a good deal.

The individual package on the AC/DC wine is nicely done and makes really great gifts :)

  • Cyper20 had indeed expired but then they brought out a new 20% off code - C20HOME
So back to 20$ a bottle
