Really good price seeing as Cdkeys is selling for the same basically, would love to pre download this one though

  • Any deals on the deluxe edition?

  • Anyone know the cheapest for ps4 without preordering? I want it but not jumping in until I see reviews next week

    • Might be worth seeing if EB Games will price match the pre-order (I think they do) if they will do a refund. Generally they have a decent return policy for console games within the first 7 days. You might need membership card for a change-of-mind refund.

Yeah because if there's one company where you need to wait for reviews for it's BioWare /s

      • I've always been a massive bioware fan, I just don't have money to waste on dud games, not going to preorder on reputation alone

The reviews will be good but the game is already confirmed garbage.

Any reasons why? I loved the old mass effects but I'm very wary about this game

Buzz so far seems good. There are a couple pre-reviews floating around now. e.g. http://kotaku.com/five-hours-in-mass-effect-andromeda-is-ove…

I'm wary of pre-orders, but with this title I'll get it regardless of if its a dud personally. If you're concerned, I'd consider check if JB HI-FI do refunds or pre-ordering somewhere that will accept change of mind and will price match.

This game has no character/story continuation from the trilogy, however it exists in the same universe. It's also made by Bioware's newer Montreal studio—it's not the same studio as the trilogy. That, coupled with the change to the DICE engine, will likely result in a somewhat different feel. I suspect it will be something like the Dragon Age: Origins ->Dragon Age Inquisition evolution.

        • @wgoddard: Damn that's not good news for me because surprisingly I really did not enjoy inquisition, I just felt like I was doing side quests after side quests similar to an online mmorpg, I'll watch some reviews and decide

  • Basically same price as buying a cd key…mmm

Does anyone know if this would be like other games where you have to download the entire game?

I don't know if anyone will know for sure, but EA tends to still actually pack the game on discs (e.g. BF1) at least in Australia. I believe you will still need a connection to authenticate Origin.

Check: https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/discussion/2794/battlef… for a discussion on it. Again, I don't know if anyone knows for sure yet.

      • I've spoken with EA and the 55GB isn't included on disc. If anyone is looking to purchase via Origin, I do have 15% off code. Looks to be unique tho: FFBBS655L9W5FHXNYLKJ

*Discount codes can be used on games which are released since one month or longer.
Discount codes can only be used to buy games or expansions.
Discount codes can be used on items that are not already on sale.
Discount codes can only be used for games published by EA.

        • thanks for code.. where did u get it?

        • @gamerking:
I got it from chatting with EA support.

        • @xeion:

what did u say to em?

        • @gamerking:
Mainly trying to find out if all the files required to play were on the disc or needed to be downloaded.

I did mention that I wanted to buy it from JB-Hi-Fi. Though it seemed more a "I couldn't really help you and feel bad" kind of code at the end of the chat.

This game looks like its gonna be Dragon Age Inquistion but in space. If you like that then cool. But too me this game looks terrible and im a big Mass Effect fan.

  • I think I would prefer to buy digital at that price…. why cant JBHIFI give keys out instantly :(

  • TL;DR: Went to EB game for the game, the trade in promotion yields better value than JB for some people who wanna trade in games. The details are listed below:

I went there today for the deal. Calculation is different to the previous deals now. Any trade-in games' value lower than $20 will be treated as $20 to against RRP - $79 so you get $59 for ME:A. If the trad-in value more than $20. The surplus brings the $59 down further. If you get bonus (calculated based on $20) from trad-in because of your EB member status, it's treated as surplus. My example is:

Shadow of Mordor: GOTY. Trade-in value: $11.00. Under $20, so treated as $20.
My membership status grants me 15% trade in value, so 15%x$20=$3
Total credit to use for ME $23.
    RRP ME: $79 - $23 = $56

If no membership & trade in lower than $20 then:
    $79-$20=$59.

As I had previous trade in credits, $36, I paid $20 eventually.

FYI, staff said I should not get $3 but system tells him I should so I got $3.

Based on above, the cheapest game you paid & traded in, the better value you get. However, this doesn't apply to trade in value > $20.

    Hope above helps.
