Will be in the UK for 4 weeks and then onto Dubai and Hong Kong..looking for a SIM and data plan that I can use whilst in the UK for google maps etc/facebook etc while travelling around…have used Giff Gaff before but not sure if there is something better out there TIA

Used Giff Gaff too. Even cheaper than 3. BUT! You should be able to continue to use 3mobile in other countries (see if their feel at home includes HongKong/Dubai). Unsure if it does.
3 mobile for in Europe. Local sim for other countries outside of the EU/Europe.
You can use feel at home in Hong Kong and Dubai but the speed will be fairly shit.
Speed can be shit in Europe too. 3 UK finally admitted a while back that they throttle data speeds outside UK even in mainland Europe with their Feel At Home offering.

I know they do. It's listed in the T&C's… They'd have to otherwise people would just abuse it.

Purchase a Three prepaid sim. I believe they have a plan which provides 12GB.
