Not the cheapest it's been, but still good for those that missed out last time. Was $998, now $898 (save $100).

Hmmm considering upgrading from my Panasonic plasma (P50V20A) which has been awesome but now plenty old. How are the contrast ratios & black levels going to compare?

EDIT: no, my plasma is still pretty great - i will buy this for my parents instead

Decisions, decisions. I wish the Hisense base was like the Sony, as I'm not sure it'll fit on my cabinet.

  It is a tough choice. Sony is a much more established brand, has Android TV (though reports of buggy-ness) and out-of-the-box HDR from HDMI sources. Hisense arguably has a better panel (Samsung uLED), is slightly larger and cheaper. Ultimately it probably comes down to the usage scenarios and support and warranty (and whether it not it fits in your cabinet).

    Cheers. I'm gonna just get to JB and measure the Hisense. I think I want it mainly for having a remote with Netflix and Youtube dedicated buttons as thats the 2 major uses of my tv
