Seems like a good deal until you realise these are assembled in Indonesia from Chinese components before a Toshiba badge is slapped onto them and they are shipped to Harvey Norman to sell as a premium product which had clearly failed hence they are dumping stock. They will still be making money at $595.
Toshiba should be ashamed for allowing their brand to be used in this manner.

Although you may be right in that the quality of this particular TV isn't great, using Chinese compenents (or having it assemblied elsewhere) isn't something that only Toshiba does. Any comments on the quality of this TV compared to recent clearance Sonys or a Samsung?
Is this a 'proper' Japanese technology Toshiba, or a rebadged TV using the Toshiba name ????
