  • I have been thinking of getting a V8 but the $800 price tag for the top of the line model has been putting me off.

So has the discussion of a looming V10.

    • Me too waiting a good deal for V8 as already have this one .V8 has better battery time ,easy to clean and good power head.

    • Not sure where the discussion of a looming V10 was happening but I can assure you that there aren't any V10 sticks anywhere near release.
The V6 was around for 3 years before the V8 which was release late last year.

    • I might wait for the v12 to be released!

  • Anyone has recommendations for cleaning up pet hairs? The Animal/Absolute version is a lot more expensive than the slim version. Is the larger motorhead worth the extra price? I have a Dyson now, it is very annoying to have to clean the motorhead after about 3 or 4 uses.

    • I have a dog, a cat, a long-haired shedding wife and mixed hardwood, tile and carpet in my house. Bought the slim as I couldn't justify $500 on a vacuum cleaner. The slim is perfect, easy to use and has cut down my vacuum time (no cords!!) significantly. Not sure what the advantage of the higher models would be, but this suits my needs.

      • Better suction and filter in the absolute range.

        • The question is: is it worth the >50% increase in price?

To each their own I suppose, maybe it's best I haven't used the higher models or I'd want an upgrade ;)

          @blergmonkeys:

Well absolute is only 150 bux more and the foam head is soooooo goood. Picks up everything on the hard floor. I probably spend 150 bux on grocery a week so it's not that much more money for something I use every day.

@Frozensage: I got the V6 absolute and the handheld (previous model before the sim).
          I have laminate flooring.
The absolute's foam head is great on my floors, while the older model scratches the surface a fair bit :-(
The air that comes out of the absolute is great, while the older model is a bit dusty.
In terms of suction it isn't worth 50% more, but it is definitely worth the extra $150 for the two reasons above (foam head and filter).

        • @Frozensage: Agree 100%. I also got the absolute and wasn't completely sold on the foam head, as I was mainly looking at using it primarily for my carpeted HT room. BUT, the foam head is seriously brilliant for my laminate floors and due to the fact I have 4 Labradors that shed a lot of hair, the foam head is something that I use every day, and could not do without now as it makes life so much easier. I would happily pay an extra $150 just for the foam head, so the other features that come with the absolute are an added bonus.

  • So this lasts ~20 minutes on a charge…but how long does it take then to recharge?

    • 3.5 hours empty to full, you don't need to wait until it's fully charged though.

  • Now available at The Good Guys for $2 less in addition to Bing Lee. Bing Lee delivery is cheaper though if you aren't click & collecting.
