[Android] All HDM Dev Team Apps Are Free (Usual Price Ranges from $1 to $3)

1090

HDM Dev Team
HDM Dev Team is a Japanese app developer and all of their apps are free at the moment (except one).

A BIG huge thank you to @0p for pointing out this deal. It wouldn't have made the front page without him.

Here are the links to directly to each of the apps. For some reason, some of the apps are listed as "License" but they appear to be full apps; best for you to read the descriptions carefully and decide for yourselves.

Please note that @k0ka2 has made an interesting find on how the apps are named (original post is in the comments below). My findings are a little different to k0ka2's so I have merged our findings here in summary:
* Apps with the word "pro" are fully functional apps with no Ads but some of them may still be time limited.
* Apps with "pro (licence)" are fully functional apps with no Ads and no time restrictions but might also require the trial version to be installed first.
* Apps without these words Pro or License are mainly Ad supported but are not time restricted.

I was thinking today i might be Bamboozled
But not today bud, not today…

Thanks for giving credit where credit is due.

Please send 50% of karma in a PM.

      • +2

        I was kidding…
You can't actually send karma it was a inside(Reddit) joke…

        • LOL, now I want to see the PM's damnit!

        • +1

Ok I will pm you screenshots…

        • +1

          @dfaktz:

          Here is a brief summary…
Hahnski:I asked 0p how to send a PM Karma and thanked him for keeping an eye on my posts.
0p replied with: "Pierce a drop of blood on your screen so I can devour your life essence."

          Yep… he got me good!

  • Downloaded a few, thanks OP!

  • Please lift finger off the Submit Deal button xD
c'mon man, how many of your deals got merged in last 24 hours

    • It's not like I'm spamming. If I spot it, I submit it. Not sure why you're upset about seeing free Android apps. I'm pretty sure I'm permitted to submit 2 deals per hour and none of the moderators have asked me to hold off.

      • +4

Not sure why you didn't just edit your previous deals, especially since they're less than 2 hours apart?
Are the apps in your new post so good they should be posted separately?

Are you sure you want every little thing that's part of a sale to have their own deal page?
Come next Steam Sale, it'll be fun trying to scroll past all that.

I don't accuse you of intentionally spamming but it does look quite repetitive, since the apps are from the same developer and rather unknown.

        • +6

Hmmm … I see your point. I'll keep that in mind for future posts. Thanks for the guidance.

        • +4

          @Hahnski:
Didn't intend to start an argument, sorry if it came across that way.

  • +2

is it just me or do they all seem to do the same thing?

    • +1

no its not just you. What stopped me from downloading was the repeated promise of 'extend your battery life and speed up your phone' among all the different apps that I'm not confident they can deliver.

Their pages are laden with language errors too.

      • +1

        Japanese developers.

  • +1

I think Magic Swipe is a combination of a few of their apps.

    • agreed, i just set all the apps to download on my tablet just to ensure i have the license, will delete those other apps

  • +9

Please PLEASE do not use 'Auto-Optimization' apps.

    • +9

      That's a pretty bold statement.

    • I have a suspicious feeling the app did the opposite. My phone slowed down considerably when I installed it a couple of weeks ago. I uninstalled it and will find out in the next day or so if it was indeed the culprit.

Will try some of his other apps.

    • +1

Yeah, I can recommend a power saving app for newer Androids called Doze which prevent unwanted network use during sleep, but other than that I wouldn't use any auto optimising stuff.

CCleaner is handy to run occasionally to clear big caches and old files.

      • Keep in mind that Samsung phones have this already built in (in Smart manager)
        (well S6 anyways)

        • Dozer is the rare exception to this, definitely agreed @zerocents - amazing app that I use on basically everyone of my android devices. (woops, replied to the wrong comment)

re: Smart manager, It's debatable whether or not the built in Samsung manager is a full replacement for Dozer, I can't do any testing but knowing how each of them work, I feel like they might actually compliment each other in most situations.

    Is there anything useful here?

    • +1

Maybe note useful, but I find Privacy Filter Pro to be interesting.
Also, Clipboard Pro could be handy if you do a lot of cut and paste between apps.
For app security, App Lock - Quick AppLock Pro might come in handy.
Call Recorder Pro (although there are debates about its legality and use) is always good to have.
Screenshot Pro License might be useful if you take many screenshots and like the idea of cutting out the notification bar from the shots.

You could do what yummycoot did and download the stuff to get the licence and then delete the apps straight after.

dfaktz is right about the optimisation apps… maybe in the days of Gingerbread and earlier, optimisation apps were useful but in the modern day Android OS optimisations apps are probably more detrimental.

  • Having downloaded a number of HDM apps, they seem to use the following naming convention:
    * Apps with the word "pro" are fully functional apps with no Ads but are time limited (1-7 days)
    * Apps with "pro (licence)" are fully functional apps with no Ads and no time restrictions. These should be the ones you download and are free at the moment
    * Apps without these words are mainly Ads supported but are not time restricted. There are few where there are no Ads and are free eg. Fast Optimizer.

    • Their naming of the apps is not the best, but I need to point out that the Rotation Control app has a free version and a paid version.

The free version is called Rotation Control and the paid version (which is free at the moment) is called Rotation Control Pro. The Pro version is not time limited and it's a fully functional app. Some of the other apps with Pro are the same - there is a non-Pro version that is time limited and a Pro version that is a fully functional app.

It may be best if I update the post with yours and my findings to help reduce confusion. Thanks for your input.

  • Blue Light Filter Pro is coming up as $3.59 for me.
