Now Far Cry 3 is next.

    • -1

Or just pay $10 and buy it 2nd hand and sell it once you are done.

    • Rose was great. It's a decent month.

  • -3

Is this the 3rd time Ryse has been a game with gold?

    • +5

      Never has been

    • No, first time

  • question. with a 14-day trial, if i activate it, and download these games. can i still play them after the 14-days is up?

    • -7

      yes you can.

it will stay in your account until your Gold membership expire

    • +7

can i still play them after the 14-days is up?

      No.

A 14-day trial can only obtain Xbox One titles (not Xbox 360), allowing you to play them until the trial expires.

    • Good question!

Here's the official answer from the FAQ:

If you're on a 14-day prepaid code trial, you're not eligible. You must have a current Xbox Live Gold subscription or trial that requires a credit card.

Also the Xbox One games can only be launched if you have an active subscription. If your subscription elapses for any reason, you will no longer be able to launch the game. The Xbox 360 titles don't have this restriction.

      Edit: Beaten!

      • So does that mean that games obtained with Gold for Xbox One (not 360) cannot be played without an internet connection?
        What about games purchased then?

        • All Xbox One games can be played without any internet connection. What it means is that you need to have a current Gold subscription to play Xbox One games that you've got through Games With Gold. If your Gold subscription runs out then you want be able to play the games until you re-subscribe.

        • @DoubleWookie:
Ok got it - thanks for the info. I've subscribe to Gold for a few years in a row now and claimed most games since it's started so looking forward to the day I get an Xbox One.

    • for xbox one games, you can only play it if your have an active membership, if it expired, you can't play but it is in your games library and it will be playable the next time you pay for membership.

for xbox 360 games, they are yours to keep after you purchase them for $0.00

they work even if membership expires.

    • +1

Xbox One games that are obtained as part of the Games with Gold promotion can only be played if you have an active Gold membership.
Xbox 360 games can be played even after Gold membership has expired.

Have a read of the complete FAQ; here is an excerpt from the FAQ:

What happens to my Games with Gold games if I cancel my Xbox Live Gold subscription?

On Xbox One, you’ll no longer be able to access your Games with Gold titles if you cancel your subscription. However, if you decide to renew your subscription at any time, you’ll be able to access and play your previously redeemed Games with Gold titles again.

On Xbox 360, any Games with Gold titles that you redeem as an Xbox Live Gold member are yours to keep, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.

  • I shall rise to get Ryse

  • Great line up. Can't see psn beating this

  • I've got another month of Gold because they gave me the $1 startup month again the other day despite having done it countless times on the same account. I'm down to shove another 2 360 games into the stack. 2 from this month and 2 from the next, 25 cents each, even though I've got a couple from PS+ and old ass physical copies, I mean, that's a ripper of a deal yo. (profanity) full price though.

Anyway, good games this month I think. Swear Walking Dead 2 has been up before, but could have been on Plus.

    • Actually it worked for me too $1
Just make sure you are logged in

    • Season 1 and Wolf Among Us have been. I'm glad season 2 is up now as I wanted to play it haha

  • +7

I knew holding off on Ryse for three years would be worth it!

    • Same here! It had GwG written all over it.

Also I don't think I would pay for a quick-time-event simulator, which the game ended up being after they ditched Kinect.

  • +2

Nice… Now to get faster internet so a 40gb download doesn't take me three days. :(

  • +1

Sony could learn a thing from Microsoft, the monthly PS Plus games always pale in comparison..

    • -4

Ryse is an Xbox exclusive God of War style game. God of War has been given away on Plus before.
Darksiders was given away on Plus years ago.
Walking Dead 2 was given away on Plus a while back too.

Only thing of note here is Assassin's Creed, and that'a an old ass one you can find for a couple of bucks anywhere. So yeah, you're right, PS Plus is paling in comparison, useless Sony giving away half of the games a long ass while before Xbox gave away the same games. Useless old Sony.

  • This is great, as I'm still on xbox 360 (holding out for Scorpio) i don't have either of these games and i just finished assassins creed 3.

Wonder what PlayStation well come up with. March was pretty bad.

    • Make sure you 'buy' the Xbox One games so you'll have a full library when you finally purchase one.

      • +1

Yep been doing that. Waiting for the scorpio as I've already got a pc and ps4

    • Drawn to Death is one of the ps+ for April

  • +4

The Telltale Walking Dead games (Season 1 and 2 in particular) are absolutely phenomenal. Season 2 is a great pick up!

    • While the story and characters are great (way better than the TV series!), the game's premise falls short in that your decisions don't actually affect the story's outcome, but more affect just superficial things.

Still a great pickup for free though.

  • Finally 3 years of Xbox Live Gold pays off waiting for Ryse :)

  • I got excited when I went on the games with gold page, as it is showing a picture of the Legendary Edition cover for Ryse. But when you click through it it only offers the basic for free.

  • For those wondering Ryse was okay, kinda decentish, a bit better then some toted exclusives on competing platforms. With that said, combat relies a little to much on the arkham system at times, but the better set pieces, some of the battle choice stuff and the optional quicktime combos and hyper combo modes add some fun to it.

If the rumored sequel is true, hopefully they flesh the combat out a bit more, less arkham. And hopefully God of War is gameplay focused like its predecessors, rather then just a heavy story driven affair with little gameplay. Apparently ryse may have influenced the new god of war a little, but hopefully both learn from the original God of Wars, DMC.

Walking Dead games basically thinly veiled movies/cartoons, i guess there is a place for this, but like alot of Naughty Dog games, they dont really focus much on being an actual video game enough, at times, which brings down the experience.
