When Cheapest Is Not The Best Option!

This is hilarious, so thought I'll share …
And it is not an April Fool's joke since it was published yesterday (31 Mar).

A Dutch student learned the hard way that some deals are too good to be true …
… it was much cheaper than all the other tickets.

Melbourne is nice this time of year.
    (Melbourne, Florida that is).

Read about someone who did actually do that, from Europe. Florida is not one of my "go to" places.

Part of the problem is MEL is Melbourne (Vic) International
        and MLB is Melbourne, Florida.

        But, it happens.

  • It always amuses me how some people can be so ignorant when it comes to things such as travel.

Some of us do go through the clueless stage a bit, before being a more experienced traveller.

I remember one time, I walked out of the airport without claiming my baggage, and had a hard time trying to get back in due to language issues. Thank goodness this was before Sep 11, or it could be even harder :-)

Was it in Australia and you were speaking English?

Haha, no. It was Tokyo! Before smartphone/translator apps were widely available.
Just could not convey why I need to get back into the restricted zone.

I remember a episode of the Graeme Norton show and they had this Aus guy in the Big Red Chair. He was explaining how he used to work as a travel agent in sydney and one day this old itallian bloke came in and asked for "..a ticket to Roma".

a month later the travel agent got an angry phone call from the old bloke asking why he wasn't in Italy but in Roma Queensland.
