calm.com 24 Hour All-Access Pass on Wednesday, April 5th

70

Got an email from calm.com with an offer I cannot find repeated anywhere on the net so here's a screenshot. Some people I know reckon it's great but I tried calm's limited trial about a year ago and stopped after a few days because I don't have enough time amongst all my stresses.

"On Wednesday, April 5th, in honor of International Calm Day, we're unlocking all of our premium content for 24 hours. Everyone will have access to the mindfulness tools needed to face life's most stressful moments, including a special Daily Calm.

"Please enjoy a day of Calm on us. On April 5th, open your app, listen to the Daily Calm, check out our mindfulness programs, and settle into slumber with a Sleep Story."

    wtf is calm.com?

    • An app to supposedly help relax / meditate / remain calm.

You can find out all personally with the free pass on Wednesday, April 5th.

    • I thought they were related to calm.jpg but sadly not.

  • I like calm but I wish they had a lifetime subscription offer

    • Their subscribe page shows a lifetime plan for (US?)$299.

    • Lifetime subscription models are typically based on a pyramid scheme.

These services do have ongoing costs to operate (e.g. app updates, servers, traffic, advertising, back-end software upgrades, etc.). The advantage to the supplier is an initial up-front payment to defray their start-up costs.

Included in the Terms & Conditions is this gem:

Because our Services are evolving over time we may change or discontinue all or any part of the Services, at any time and without notice, at our sole discretion.

An annual substription is $59.99, while lifetime subscription is $299.99. So you only start to save money after 5 years, which is longer than the company has been around for.

  • free download for 24hrs, they probably lock sessioins after Wednesday..

I don't have enough time amongst all my stresses.

Are your stresses mainly centred around animal welfare?

    • No. In fact being committed to intellectual/scientific honesty, logical sensibility and knowing that the simplest choices greatly reduce unnecessary violence and have numerous other benefits can be most liberating.

  • Enjoying this. Thanks
