        • Thanks for your thoughts.

How loud is it? Were there many updates required? When will you try a game on it?

        • @Circly: Seems like there are no updates needed at all, or probably just a few because the major W10 update should hit soon or already did. The noise level is really low (without gaming), and i'm currently downloading a game at the moment to see.

        • @Circly: Actually gets pretty loud when you're running games like Guild Wars 2 on very high. It's tolerable loudness.

        • @Aced21:

Can you tell how hot it is running?some noise is expected if it is a graphically demanding game I guess.

      • Played *

  • Yay!! Mine arrived today as well, just in time for the long weekend.

This is replacing my existing Desktop (5+ Years old) and wow… I thought it was broken after I turned it on for the first time. It is deadly silent compared to the old computer.

Done all the standard setup. Used https://ninite.com/ (Bulk apps installer) to start loading programs etc.

Question: I have an existing subscription to Bitdefender and would prefer to remove Mcafee. Any issues with doing this since its a forced preinstalled program?

Keen to here from others that have purchased.

    • +1

I think it's fine to uninstall it, just that you lose the free one year sub. I don't think the anti virus is anything special anyway. I'll just keep it there as it's a free sub and probably better than a free anti-virus. I'll definitely change it once the sub is over.

      • I used the McAfee removal tool. No problems reported after removal.

  • Got mine today too. Wow its heavier than I thought

    • Review plz for the plebs still waiting.

By the way I have submitted my claim for cash back with powerbuy

It looks good. Nice and quiet. Updated easily. Keyboard and mouse are cheap crap. Ran it over night and all good. Don't have time to do much else with it as I'll be doing a 3 day bender haha

        • What updates did you need to run? Yeah I was thinking of getting one of those fancy RGB keyboards by Razor or Corsair.. Was going to see how good the keyboard and mouse were first though.

Also what brand is the ram, hdd and ssd?

  • Just got an update email from Dell with an updated delivery eta of Friday. Not a great time for my existing PC to die completely.

    • Same here.

    • I can see the item has been delivered to Homebush NSW. I've been waiting for this order for more than 2 weeks.

I'd like to lodge a complaint towards Dell tonight even if I could receive it tomorrow.

  • Received mine today. Been installing programs and deleting bloatware. Happy with it so far.

One tip is to set the keyboard to US English.. because if you set it to AUS English the FN key does not work for some reason.

    • Which bloatware are you removing?

      • Removed McAfee anti-virus because it was giving me pop ups within 5 minutes. For some reason candy crush and minecraft was also installed so I removed that too.

  • Did anyone update the graphics card to the latest driver?

I got an error saying the windows version is incompatible. Updated to the new version of windows and no difference.

    • Updated second oldest driver and that was fine.

Anyone elses PSU not turn on when doing general tasks? Does it only turn on when loaded?

      • I'm still waiting for my order. Ridiculous.

        • Have you received your order?

        • @Circly:

Received this morning. Doing setup now.

        • @xjcs88:

Congratulations! I'm still setting stuff up for it. Got a proper mouse and keyboard today.

        • @Circly: I found there is sharp noise when the HDD is dealing with data. not very loud but sharp and annoying.

  • PSA guys dont update drivers if you dont need to. I updated the sound driver but all that seemed to do was stuff up all my audio in game and also in chrome browser. I ended up reinstalling the driver from the cd and everything is working again.

    • I expect I can run DOTA2 with max effects on at around 200fps, but actually I can only get 120-130 fps.

So I hesitate whether I should still buy a 144hz monitor or not now.

      • What resolution are you playing at?

        • 1920 * 1080

        • @xjcs88:

Hmm the game probably isn't optimised that well.

  • I have been advised that my powerbuy cash back was purchased this morning :)
