how is this a bargain. 3 is not a bargain. and neither is this phone. optus has had this $0 lg optimus on the $19 extreme cap for over a month now.

Would much rather get the Samsung Jet on the $29 plan with the online offer of $10 off for the first 12months. Total Min Cost works out to be $538 for a much better phone and with better cap inclusions, albeit no Android

Actually, vodafone has this phone for free on the $29 cap for a 12 month contract. That's the free vodafone-to-vodafone and vodafone-to-3, 50MB of data (not a lot, really), for $348 total. I think that's a much better deal.
If you're looking for a cheap but not as crap android phone try the htc wildfire

3 roams on telstra?
Wouldn't buy the phone, but the 3 network is fine if you're in metro area. Never any issues with reception (it roams on Telstra), although data obviously costs a fortune on roaming so that's a minus. They're great value too compared to other major networks at least.
3 does roam on telstra but only in regional areas…. if you're in a metro area and you have no reception it usually just stays as no reception. three's own network is absolutely terrible….. ridiculously slow, unreliable and the coverage is very bad.
lack of data on 19$ and android 1.6 makes this meh
