  Is there a difference between the Bosch Clear Advantage (which replaces Aerofit as I understand) and the Bosch Aerotwin?

    Hi,

    Yes there is, the clear only caters to cars with hook wiper arms, which generally applies on Japanese cars or older European cars. The aerotwin that we sell only applies to the 07 c class and so on as mentioned in the description box.

  I bought 6 of the Bosch Eco-Plus during your last sale (for 2 different cars). Your postage was pretty quick but the product is pretty average to be honest. Noisy right from the word go on both cars (front and rear!). The previous (worn, dried out looking ones I needed to replace) were much quieter! The main blades are fine I think (metal parts) but the refills (rubber) are just not good. I'll have to change them soon but at least I can put normal refills into these blades (which you can't easily do with the aerofits).

    Hi,

    Thank you for your feedback and reviews of our product. The main concern of the eco plus, is that the metal parts are not that flexible to move alongside the shape of the windshield as it does its wiping if compared to the frameless design of the Clear advantage, which might be the reason why it is noisy.

      Nope. They are noisy because the rubber refills that come with them are rubbish, nothing to do with the metal frame. My stock metal frames make no noise with the worn refills and they are a similar design. I bought the Eco-Plus because I was looking at new refills at a similar price so I thought why not get the whole thing for a similar price? Obviously what I ended up with hasn't actually achieved what I wanted to do but lesson learned: don't buy wiper blades from an online company that doesn't provide refunds of products not fit for purchase (they chatter as they go along also, usually a sign of poor quality rubber).

      But hey, I'm not the company selling poor quality products so it doesn't worry me. It was hardly worth my time pushing it but thought I should at least provide the feedback to warn others.

      I take back my comment about +1 for company.

        I never implied they are faulty. I said the rubber component was rubbish. I don't think they faulty as such, just not good quality (Bosch stuff is very hit and miss in general but you would think they could get rubber right!). They work, just poorly for a brand new product. I would expect their effectiveness, or lack thereof, from worn out wipers not new ones!

        Anyway, I will just buy refills from Super Cheap Auto or Repco and swap them over and be done with it. At least the actual metal parts seem decent enough quality and fit nicely (similar to OEM style).

        People also need to be warned that buying the aero-twins, or any similar flat-style wiper blades, will result it probably having to throw away their very expensive wiper blades as refills are very hard to come by (it is doable but you need to know what you are doing). Exactly why I avoid changing cars over to that style (usually only very modern or Euro cars).

        Another opinion, just on the frameless - on one of these deals, I swapped from metal frame wipers on my 2005 ford escape (after experiencing my 2004 W203 merc with frameless wipers, not in this deal), and it's much more relaxing when driving in the rain with a DRAMATIC decrease in noise. I'm sold on changing to frameless.

        Frameless can be good, no doubt about it (I have a fair bit of experience with them). However, refills for them are the problem on top of the cost. Good quality normal wipers are perfectly fine…just not the Bosch Eco-Plus! :)

        The rubber in the frameless still wear out just as much as normal wipers so you can't really avoid having to change them again in the future. Do I think they are worth it? Nope!
