[Officeworks Clearance] TI-Nspire CX CAS Graphing Calculator $80, Filofax iPad Air 2 Case with Notepad $5

160

I found these two clearance items whilst browsing in Officeworks Campbelltown (NSW). We should know by now that Officeworks clearance means very limited number of stock in a few select stores. I posted these limited stock items only because the savings are significant.

Filofax iPad Air 2 Case with Notepad in 3 colours are priced at $5 online. I found 5 units on the shelf in their usual location. $94.95 were the original prices but they are now labelled $15, so remember to bring up the web page and save another $10.

Texas Instruments TI-Nspire CX CAS Graphing Calculator is $199 online. I found 10 units in the clearance bin near the toilets for $80 each.

Edit: I have purchased the remaining calculators for my fellow OzBargainers. See below for discussion.

    Soiled clearance items?

    • +2

Lucky I wrote $80 each, otherwise it would really smelt like soiled stock.

  • Calculator is amazing value, i paid 200 for it when i started my Engineering degree and i swear by it

  • Yeh that calculator was around $220 when i bought it for VCE. Im guessing there is a newer one coming out?

  • called Elsternwick ….. $199 each

  • Hey OP, can you post a pic of the clearance bin… Thank you.

Err, I didn't take a photo of the generic white Officeworks clearance bin. I am not travelling back to the store to take a photo of a plain white box, sorry.

The calculators are mixed in with all the other returned, EOL, broken packaging and odd-lot items. The location of the bin, as I indicated, is near the toilets and the internal entrance to the warehouse. You are looking in the wrong place if you are near the copying and service counters.

OW has applied $80 stick-on price tags to the back of the calculator packaging.

  • it's Campbell town specific ……. they can't transfer the stock as the store that scans it will charge $199 ……..can't do payment over phone …………if ordered via call centre won't do soiled stock price.

I'm in Melbourne so I'm lucked out.

    thks for the info though

How many people would be interested if I buy and post one out to you? I think the calculator will fit into a small Express Post prepaid satchel. With insurance and signature on delivery, postage should be $15.30.

      • I'm surprised nobody has grabbed them and put on Ebay …… check the cost and active bids on ebay ….. very popular.

I could have done so but I am not Broden. Just want to give my fellow OzBargainers a fair chance to buy cheap.

  • Can you post receipt for calculator please? (if you bought any that is haha)

    • Yes, I will make individual purchases and include the OW receipt for warranty. I am not a business and you will deal with OW/TI for warranty/ACL claim. I will deal with lost & damaged item-in-transit with AusPost through postal insurance.

Right now I am gathering expressions of interest. I don't know how many units are left for me to buy. I will post in the classifies forum if this is going ahead. OzBargain rules do not allow private selling in deals.

  • I'd be up for one! My daughter needs one for school and I've been putting it off due to budget issues! Can I get on the list?

    • +1

No. 1 position on the list. OW closes at 7 tonight but it is bucketing down at the moment. I will go tomorrow morning to buy. I wish you luck.

  • I wouldn’t mind to have one as well

    • No. 2. Stay tuned and good luck.

  • I'm up for one if it's possible, thanks so much.

    • No. 3. Stay tuned and good luck.

  • Can I grab 2 of them if it is not asking too much? Me and my sis are both doing Engineering and this would be handy to have.

If not, I'm happy to grab just the one for myself.

    Cheers~!

Good news MrOnion, a1oka, britbitxh and Pmaster1337. The rain stopped and I purchased 7 units. I might keep 1 for myself and sell one for profit.

The package fits into a small 500g Express Post satchel, and weighs 498g. Add bubble wrap and it comes to 505g. Do you think I can get away with 505g in a 500g satchel? Or use half the amount since the back of the package are manuals, a cable and a piece of cardboard? Or do you want to upgrade to a 1kg satchel with full wrap?

I will send PM to each of you to exchange payment and info.

    • great job on helping others out!

    • I am ok with the one kg option. Thanks for your effort :)

    • I'm good with the 1kg option. Again, thank you so much and feel free to PM the payment details!

      • Please turn on your PM. If I cannot contact you soon then jmcc is the next in line.

        • PM turned on, sorry.

    • Hi alvian,

I put two on hold until I could work something out but they said there were only five left when I called at around 3pm (hopefully the two extra ones you bought weren't the ones the staff member was supposed to put on hold for me).

Provided they're still available (and they hopefully should be), I was considering asking you if we could organise something but I wasn't sure if I should ask, but I've just noticed you have done so with some other members.

I got a second to sell to cover the courier costs but I'd be happy to let someone else have it if you can send me just one cheaper than the $35 - $55 postage cost I was quoted by staff. Let me know when you can, please. This is really nice of you!

By the way, if my two are still on hold, I think you should keep one and sell it for profit. You've earned it! :) However, I would ideally like two if possible to have a spare during SACTs and exams, just in case. I actually have one already which I bought before school started but the centre button is faulty. I have to press right or left, then go back, to be able to press OK with the centre button (hope that made sense) so I've been planning on returning it. This way I can return my faulty one and save some money which will could go to other school supplies.

      Cheers.

      • Hey mate, it is too late in the night for me to figure out what you just wrote and want, but I saw 2 units on hold at the counter. I asked about them and the staff confirmed as much. Obviously I wasn't able to buy them.

There's no way I can tell if those 2 were on hold for you though.

  • Casio classpad masterrace

    • Mathematica and Maple is what I use professionally. These CAS calculators are toys.

  • are there any left?

    • Depends on your point of view. Pmaster1337 wanted two and I want one to sale for profit and one to keep. Do you want to buy my for-profit unit, or do you want one of us to give up an unit for you?

I found a new one for $147.50 delivered on eBay, or wait until I am bored of this toy and you can buy my near-new unit for a fair but cheap price.

      • i meant at the store, its not that far from me (about an hour)

        • The $80 clearances are all gone at OW Campbelltown. surroundedbymaniacs reserved and bought the last two units. OW Campbelltown will not restock this line as it is a bad seller at this locale. Other OW stores & OW eBay are selling at the regular price of $199.

Do take a look on eBay for used units. With the $10 discount code CHOCCY, an used unit would costs around $100. For example, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/cas-calculator/172609399229 $103.50 delivered after discount.

  • I'd like to take one as well if there are some left.

  • jmcc, oneacc and woohpun are in reserve. Unfortunately it is unlikely that there will be a spare cheap calculator left for you, but I will keep you guys in mind and send you a private message if one becomes available.

woohpun, you should turn on PM.
