The Nitecore D4 is a universal smart charger compatible with almost all cylindrical rechargeable batteries. With LCD to display the status of power charging, the Smart Charger NiteCore D4 also comes with four battery slots, so it can charge four batteries at one time. The Nitecore D4 automatically detects Li-ion, Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries, and through manual selection is also capable of charging LiFePO4 batteries. Besides, it also provides reliable and overall protection for your batteries.

Four-Slot Design
With four batteries slots, you can charge four batteries of different sizes or different models at the same time, save much time and space.

New -dV/dt Charging Function
The -dV/dt charging can check the battery status more accurately and stop charging while it is full so that there will be no over-charging problem.

Night Charging Mode
Press and hold the SLOT button for 3 seconds to turn off the back light for a better rest in the night. Press and hold the button again for 3 seconds to turn on the back light again.

Low Current Mode
All brand new low current mode, fully compatible with the batteries that have a small capacity.

LCD Display
Larger LCD display screen on the top to show the details during the charging progress. When the charging is finished, there will be a symbol on the screen to notice.

Copper Metal Slot
Minimize the contact electric resistance between the electrodes for an accurate voltage, less heat generated and more smooth while placing the batteries.

Automatic Temperature Control
Built-in real time temperature protective system, avoids the high temperature, makes the charging process more safe and stable.

New Material with Higher Safe Level
Using the fire-proofing material ABS entirely, the digital D2 charging provides the more comprehensive safe protection, which makes it safer while using.

Wide Compatibility
It is compatible with IMR/Li-ion/LiFePO4 batteries, including 10440,14500,16340 (RCR123), 17500, 17670,18350, 18490, 18500, 18650, 22650, 26650 batteries, and Ni-MH/NiCd batteries, including AA, AAA, AAAA, C batteries.

  • Zapals from my experience is VERY slow on shipping. Last order I placed 3 weeks ago and they only just shipped it. They do have good prices, at least from what I've bought, and their customer service is good, but shipping is insanely slow (even if you pick DHL/EMS). I'm guessing they have no stock and order it in as needed.

I bought my D4 from them last November and it arrived in a fortnight.

      • +3

        Same here. Great charger!!

      • That's good, I've ordered twice. Both times extremely long shipping time.

    • +1

I agree. My order was pending for about 3 weeks to a month and to top it off, DHL stitched me up as well.

    • Ive heard from people that buy plenty via Chinese shipping, it seems sometimes you wait on stock, but even if a Chinese seller has stock, if shipping is free, sometimes youre waiting for the delivery container to be full. It can add up if in the wrong part of the cycle…

    • I bought a nitecore D2 on the 10th this month.
      it arrived today.
so 9 days postage time from when i ordered.

      cheapest postage option.

  • Will this charge batteries that have not been charged for a long time. I have a similar smart charger that won't do it so have to use a "dumb" charger for that?

    • +2

I found you need to use a dumb charger for the frist 5 min, then it will work with a smartcharger

      • Yep same here

    • +3

I touch the terminals of the dead battery to the terminals of a live battery with aluminium foil or paper clips for 30 seconds. Gives it enough juice for the smart charger to finish the job.

  • +1

Ordered one of these from Zapals previously. Do not recall the shipping time being that long. Fantastic charger. I remember some reviews saying that it was tricky to get AAA batteries to charge on it, but I haven't had any such problems.

    Can't choose no tracking delivery:

Regular non tracking (Temporary unavailabe for high value order)
    Australia Post - (7-15 business days) AU$4.93

Is this a high value item? The total comes to $31.63

    • Yep, not available…

      • :(

    • I still brought it with them thou.
Cheapest I can found is $39 on eBay.

  • Nm they do come in au plug

  • It does not charge NiZh, right?

    • +2

It will if your NiZh are coated with nimh.

  • Are you able to choose the charging current or is that really automatically chosen?

  • I have the same unit. There is a bit of issue with the software but it still charging ok.

  • whats the difference between this and the i4?

    • I think similar, but the D series have a display, the I series just LED's. Check the Nitecore site though.

I already have the Maha 9000 which is good for AA & AAA, so I got the Nitecore SC2 ($38-ish) off eBay with a couple of 18650 batteries (to bump the total up over $50). This can charge at 3A (in 1 slot), so a lot quicker. There's a $10 off a $50 min spend at the mo.

    • Thanks for that OP. I fried my D4 overnight (that would cast some doubts whether it was a legit or a fake one…), have a great Maha C9000 at home and SC2 may be an option ! Thumbs up for you.

      [EDIT]

Just checked the died one- it was fake… got from Aliexpress something like 2 years ago. Did not know they were faking also the chargers.

  • Thanks OP, meant to grab one of these last time but forgot. Now ordered!

  • +1

    Not sure tho,
How to tell if they are new model and or not fake?

    • Any buy any of these yet and received them? I'd like to know if they are real or fakes.

I nabbed a pair of Nitecore torches off these guys a while ago and they are legit. Cant say for the chargers, but they at least do stock genuine Nitecore stuff.

    • I received mine yesterday - order on 27/4 - so about 14 days to get here.

Got it at the cheaper price too.

It looks legit, charging is working ok - I tried scanning the registration QR code on the sticker and it also seems legit, although the nitecore site has been down since last night so I can't complete the registration.

      Happy so far.

      • ordered on 19/04 got on 12/05
nitecore site has been down unable to validate the serial

came with Aus plug adaptor thing - just used pliers and delicately turned the US prongs to Au :)
done it in the past with Roku, Fenix and other gadgets works 100% just go easy with pliers.

charged eneloop batteries very simple to use.
I am a novice and not technical so don't know if there are any customizations that can be done.
        (apart from night mode)

        If someone knows please share.

This is actually cheaper now at $17.99.

    NiteCore D4

    • -1

You sure that wasnt US price? If not it must have been short lived, price is back to the OP $$ and cheap post option is still unavailable.

  • What is up with the Nitecore validation page not loading, the rest of the website loads just not that page and from reading the above has been like that for awhile.

    • +1

Yea took me 3 days constant refreshing page lol

once complete you should get this message

Verified by our system, the product you purchased (model D4, serial number XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) is a genuine NITECORE product on May. 15, 2017 0:40. Thank you for purchasing NITECORE. Warranty has been granted automatically. Please check your registered email to confirm. Thank you!

Still haven't received an email though.

      • I sent Nitecore an email about their website, they replied saying they are updating their website and to try again in a few days time.

  • How much are AA/ AAA rechargeable batteries and where best price to buy them? thanks

    • +1

The best ones to get are LSD (low self discharge) batteries such as Eneloops, Ikea or Aldi batteries. I got a few AA/AAA from Aldi, $6.99 for a pack of 4.

  • Finally the Nitecore website let me validate my D4 as genuine. I also opened it up and can confirm its genuine by comparing it to the pics on the Nitecore website and by also comparing it to my fake D4 which I got to keep after getting a full refund.

The capacitors on the fake D4 had Nitecorc written on them instead of Nitecore and no branding on the motherboard. Funny thing is from my testing so far the fake and original perform exactly the same when charging identical batteries side by side.

NB: The fake D4 I purchased was listed on eBay as genuine brand new D4 without the original box (water damaged box) so obviously no validation code but I was promptly refunded when I showed them the pics of the capacitors.
