  • Looks dodgy… Any specs at all ??? Nothing i can find on the website…

  • The specifications are here:

Although it isn't much of a deal since you can get similar docks from Deal Extreme without shipping costs.

    • Thank you. But Deals Extreme ship from HK. a little bit worry… I just got one from costmart. hope it will go smoothly. First time use them though.

  • I can't see power specified anywhere… I have been burnt by that before. Otherwise would get one.

I bought an almost identical model from Ozab (Ozstock) a while ago. It's an older model with speakers in each end, rather than the front of the enclosure. I paid $20 pickup for mine from OzStock, and we are very happy with it. My GF loves it, prefers it to the main stereo system (because she reckons it is cute)!

They use a simple 2+2W amp chip, but the speakers are very efficient - it is surprisingly loud and gives quite reasonable sound quality too. The built-in Lithium battery is excellent, with very long shelf life (always seems to play for an hour or more even if we forget to charge for months) and will last many hours even at high volumes.

It remembers where you were up to in the track list, restarts at beginning of last played song. Only thing is… it plays the files on USB/SD in alphabetical order. An LED display for MP3 ID tags or filenames would be really handy, because if you have a lot of songs it's really hard to find a specific one off your USB or SD Card.

Some of the "higher-end" speakers in this "MD" range have that, but if you use a MP3 Player or phone as music source, you can use the screen on that to navigate.

Typical manufacturer's webpage (use Next link, there are 5 pages)… http://www.sundasim.com/products.asp?1=1&pId1=5&blockI=&page…

    • Thanks,
What are you charging it with though? It doesn't seem to come with a power adaptor… I don't have anything for 5V laying around.

I think that mine came with a USB recharging cable, I connected it to a simple 5V plugpack. The battery is sealed inside, so all suppliers wi'll have to provide some way of charging up the internal lithium (I read somewhere it's rated at 1000mAh, buy knowing the Chinese that probably means 500mAh or so)

EDIT - At my local Sunday computer markets at North Rocks there is a Laser stand, and they sell 500mA USB plugpacks for $2 each. I probably used one of those.
