Tonight GeekBuying have three special products on sale. First up is Xiaomi's new smart sneakers available in various sizes and colours for men and women.

What makes these shoes smart is the AMAZEFIT Intelligent Chip 2 which has the ability to detect movement and store data such as distance covered, speed, calories burned and much more. The chip is IP67 rated and featues a 6-axis sensor to collect data on walking, running and climbing more accurately and synchronises with an app. Besides the smart features, the shoes have features including anti-slip, air cushions, arched soles, antibacterial insoles and soft velvet composite SBR to prevent the shoes slipping off at the ankles and heel.

Next up is the Xiaomi Mijia 3.5K Panorama Action Camera. It has two fisheye lens that allow you to take 360-degree full angle images with a camera sensor at 16Mp which can be interpolated up to 23.88MP for better photos. It has a 6-axis elecontric image stabiliser built-in with a 1600mAh battery that supports QC 2.0. A microSD card up to 128GB is officially supported and the camera features WiFi and Bluetooth. • They have been around for years

    • Who is smarter - shoe or purchaser?

      • Ask the shoes😯

        • I suspect shoe too smart to answer honestly.

        • @AlexF:
I suspect of you are asking a shoe the question, you already know you aren't the smart one😯

I fear that smart undies will soon be upon us…

    • what data does it track?

      or does it actually blows?

From the trace amounts of urine imbedded in the fibres of smart undies (shake all you want, you can't get rid of it all), they will tell us everything from our BAC to our DOD.

        • Future cops will just wave their RFID reader in the general vicinity of your pants

        • I hope it's rechargeable, otherwise it'll be chewing through a lot of batteries.

Sometimes, I think it's cruel giving machines a personality. My mate Petersen once bought a pair of shoes with Artificial Intelligence. 'Smart Shoes' they were called. It was a neat idea: no matter how blind drunk you were, they could always get you home. But he got ratted one night in Oslo and woke up the next morning in Burma. You see, the shoes got bored just going from his local to the flat. They wanted to see the world, like, you know. He had a hell of a job getting rid of them. No matter who he sold them to, they'd show up again the next day. He tried to shut them out, but they just kicked the door down, you know.

Dammit. Use spoiler tags. You just gave away the plot for the terminator re"boot"

    • +7

Lister: Last thing he heard, they'd sort of, erm, robbed a car and drove it into a canal. They couldn't steer, you see.
Petersen was really, really blown away about it. He went to see a priest. The priest told him… he said it was alright and all that, like, and that the shoes were happy and that they'd gone to heaven. You see, it turns out shoes have 'soles'.
Rimmer: Ah, what a sad, sad story. Wait a minute.
      [Thinks for a minute]
Rimmer: How did they open the car door?

I am waiting for the Xaomi smart toilet paper v8.

    • +1

      Xaomi smart toilet paper v8.

Compatible with Siri, Amazon Echo and Google Home

Hey Siri (or Alexa or Google), Wipe my ass

      • No Bixby support for all those s8 preorders?

  • Why not just use something like a Fitbit or Google Fitness? I'm failing to see the usefulness of this shoe

    • +1

Helps prevent blisters, frostbite and cuts and abrasions.

    • I think apparently fitbits or the wrist type devices are not as accurate at estimating your calorie output as the devices in your shoes.
A fitbit you know is only estimating your calorie output based on the movement of your arms.
eg. if you are a runner with a short arm swing vs a long one.
theres much less variance if the measuring device is actually in your shoes i think.

obviously there is going to be a limitation on for example if you are just standing still and hitting a punching bag - then these shoes arent going to do squat.

  • Powered by CR2032 button battery, it can be replaced and removed at any time when is out of power.

Must buy some to go with your $2 batteries

  • where is the smart lemon ice cube mold??

  • Please make smart-condom xiaomi…please

    • +1

      You mean one of these?

    • I find all my brain capacity fits neatly into most condoms.

      • Are you suggesting all those bulk condom deals and ssd deals are actually interchangeable? That changes everything!

        • I guess I'm just saying that's where my brains usually are.

  • -1

which has the ability to detect movement and store data such as distance covered, speed, calories burned and much more.

It seems like the "smarter" these devices get the dumber the users get and so here we are with shoes claiming they can tell you how many calories you burnt.

Still at least they aren't selling shirt to idiots for $500 like some US brands, they appear to be within the range of "normal" prices.

    • Basically it's a Xiaomi AMAZEFIT built into the shoes.

  • FYI smart shoes are not new. About 10 years ago you could buy chips to connect to your shoe which would send info to watch/computer device.

  • +3

Is there any product Xiaomi doesn't make?

    • +3

It's quite interesting to see what the Xiaomi-backed companies are producing. Mattresses, washing machines, towels, coffee machines and smart flower pots!

Xiaomi trying to take over the world?

I'm waiting for an OzBargain price for Mijia rice cooker. Anyone can give me a hint please.
    Thanks.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Shoes are currently available at FastTech for $52 - $54 depending on size and colour.

  • Hi OP,

Thanks for the deal. I am trying to get the pano camera but am unable to add the free TNT shipping.

I initially clicked 'proceed to checkout' where it read 0.00 for both but then went back to checkout with PayPal. Upon returning to the shipping screen I noticed that all the shipping costs were now there. I have tried a different browser now just to be sure and I am still getting an additional charge for shipping…

    • It should show up as discounted but definitely not free.

      • Oh, I misread the OP…sorry!

I could've sworn that I did see them all total 0.00$ the first time but I must've been delusional.

Thanks for clarifying. Is it worth paying the extra for slightly faster shipping in your opinion?

  • All jokes aside, they actually look quite decent.

Any further discount on the pano camera? Aliexpress is selling for USD$280…

    Thanks!

    • Link please?

      • +1

No idea how that was a referral link. I just copied the link from the app as I was on mobile.

Just go to aliexpress and search 'mijia 360'. Its the third one. They also have a higher cashback to offset shipping.

          Thanks. Ordered.
