        It's called Scrapy… It's a framework in a programming language called Python.

        One issue I've noticed is that a few of the deals are already unavailable… I think v2 will need to automatically remove those.

      Excellent work maybe add columns for "# times discount and average discount %". This way users can consider it a true one-off bargain or a regularly discounted item :-)

      Are you planning on making the scrapings publically accessible or just the excel sheet? I'd love to grab them for my own use (i have a coles, aldi and woolies all nearby and do my entire shop based on whats on discount based on unit price)

      I did the same thing, using the same Python package! I meant to save some money on groceries, but ended up spending more on half-price specials…

          Officeworks has a tougher anti-scraping policy. Seems the script has been not working since last November. They might block my IP again.

          @fredblogs: Don't know yet. I will check my log tomorrow. I guess they probably changed their API. If I remember correctly, no matter how slowly I send requests, ow's server always randomly returns unsuccessful responses, which makes my script miss some products.

    Does this list include deals that have been 1/2 price for 2 weeks in a row? I could not find the Philips LED globes in the list that were reduced to 1/2 price last week and are still 1/2 price this week.
