Great for the school holidays? The ones that just ended for Victorian students?

    • It's ended already? :(
Place only offically opened on the 18th of April

      • Yep, majority of schools went back the 18th (Jewish schools excluded). I thought it was rather strange timing as well. Unless the market is for preschoolers.

          (Jewish schools excluded)

          Are Lego anti semitic?

        • +1

Excluded from school resumption on 18th, not lego discovery.

Don't need as much class time as they already do better tham most schools on NAPLAN.

DOES NOT ALLOW ADULTS TO ENTER ON THEIR OWN!

    • That's fairly standard for Legoland

      • Not in Europe.

        • Well when you can leagally smoke at age 12 in Europe then everyone's an adult

        • I think there needs to be clarification between Legoland theme parks versus Legoland discovery centres. I'm not sure the discovery centres really offer much to adults- it's really just saving the disappointment for them.

You could wait for the upcoming Adults only nights : (https://melbourne.legolanddiscoverycentre.com.au/tickets/adu…)

I think it's to keep molesters out, bit like protocol of taking photos at school swim carnivals etc which a parent understands but non parents might not.

        • @bg: There are two rides. Any sane adult would LOVE this.

    • It's basically a kids play centre.
Have a look online at reviews from people who have been there (ignoring the reviews from those complaining about no adults).
You probably wouldn't want to go as there isn't that much to do.

It's basically a kids play centre.

Adults can enter most kids play centres for free

If it really is a kid's play centre, why are they charging adults $33 to enter to accompany their kids. It should be FREE

        • Wont last at that price point

  • +4

But u still have to pay for an adult ticket even though it's only for kids so essentially $40. Feels abit like dropping kid at childcare and you have to pay to be there as well.

But u still have to pay for an adult ticket

      It's a rort.

If they claim there is nothing there for adults, it's only for kids, why should adults have to pay to enter with their kids ???

    • Everything is designed for kids in mind but can all be used and enjoyed by adults the same, part from the soft play area which has height restrictions. The centre is about creating and exploring the fun of Lego with your child as a family, so its not a rort. Adults will appreciated many things inside the centre far more than a child would, Melbourne recreated in Miniland for example

    • Its probably not parents having to pay for me it's the amount they charge and often there is clause about kids need to be accompanied by an adult who they burden with an expensive ticket ……

  • I would imagine there's a big difference - you go to a "kids play centre" and you as an adult/parent "enjoy" (tolerant) it because your kid/s are harassing someone else's kids and not you. Whereas Legoland discovery centre you enjoy the experience with your child as you share the bewilderment of the details and possibilities.
Example, as a parent I really enjoyed Harry Potter World through the eyes of my children. I have never seen or read a complete book or movie of Harry Potter, although my children have read the books numerous times and seen the movies. If I went as an adult, I would probably walked through in 30 minutes and wondered what the fuss was about.

Whereas Legoland discovery centre you enjoy the experience with your child

That is incorrect according to Legoland. They have clearly stated in the media that only kids will enjoy it and that is why they won't allow adults to enter on their own.

I went there yesterday, this deal would've been handy! Ended up just under $100 for one Dad and two kids. The staff are new and inexperienced. Mum and kid in front took 15 minutes to buy their tickets. Entrance was haphazard. Hard to see how they'd cope come the weekend.

That being said, a lot of similar activities to LEGOLAND Malaysia in a teeny indoor location. If you could, during the week and early would be the way to go. Also pack your lunch and socks.

The Annual Pass makes sense if you're gonna visit more than twice over 12 months. I would've bought that but we're from Sydney and don't think there's one there yet. The annual pass also gives you 10% off purchases from the shop and photos. Not sure about the Cafe.

From memory, day pass is $32.50, annual pass is $81, and buying 3+ brings it down to $77.

    • What sort of activities are the same as Legoland Malaysia? Rides, shows, build areas? Curious as we have been to Legoland Malaysia twice with our kids and loved it each time. But Melbourne is much closer/cheaper to take the whole family.

Have a look at their website:
        https://melbourne.legolanddiscoverycentre.com.au/whats-insid…

What you definitely miss out are the obvious outdoor rides, but pretty much all of the indoor ones are there: Mini LEGO city (Melbourne landmarks); build your own LEGO (Friends) area; build and test/race your own LEGO carts; Workshop; and that ride where you shoot at lights along a track. The 4D cinema was also a treat.

The t&cs state the deal is only for international visitors. Does anyone know how they might enforce this?

    • Choose an accent of your choice…

  • Anyone got a kid I can use?

  • Used this on the weekend. No issues even though they were turning others away. Good saving off normal price. You also can't book a time with this, but it doesn't seem to matter as they let you in anyway - we were there at 1pm on a Saturday.
The centre itself though wasn't that great and I would waste money on going again regardless of saving. Small, disorganised and limited.

  • Is it still working, tried yesterday using App mentioned but was unable to find it ?

    • Can't find it too
