Best Bang for Buck Medium SUV?

I am looking to spend around $40 grand for a top grade medium SUV and have been told that the Kia Sportage GT line is one of the best bang for buck suv's on the market. Any advise would be appreciated.

  • I'm like the Kia Sportage 7 seater, but You can get that for closer to $30k. What do you specifically need? Seats, tech, bragging, 4wd etc?

    • I like all the features of the gt line for the price, tech, safety, interior, sunroof, etc

    • There's no 7 seater Sportage. You meant Sorrento?

Subaru Forester in my opinion. Basic model brand new for just over $30K

    • I am looking to buy a high end model not basic.

      • You can get the forester for $40K top models as well, particularly demo models if you score a good deal .

      Turbo dieesel leather sunroof gadgets.

Cheaper for the petrol version mid $30s

Personally i would spend the extra $10k on an XT premium for some exhilaration but i can understand if that is out of budget.

      • Yeah, didn't get the turbo in our case. Got the luxury 2.5L, 2015 petrol edition.
Got a good deal on a demo model though, little over $30K for it.

        • Good cars for the money and still made in japan

@captobvious: Totally agree, worth every $

        • Kia do have the 7 year factory warranty

@David76: Subaru has 5, which in my opinion is more than enough.

  • Sportage is a good choice

    Also look at a Tucson

  • 80 grand Audi

    • Dont sell yourself short 120k porsche cousin. ;)

  • Renault Koleos zen or intens.

  • Test drive Haval H8. I know someone who has it and they love it.

  • You can't go wrong with the Sportage with Kia's warranty. If it includes the tech you are after and the test drive goes well - its a pretty good package.
