  • Worth trying the code as per here as well, to see if still valid for your purchase.

    • I tried, doesnt seem to work

  • and delivery is only $4.95 I believe (metro Melbourne, at least)

  • We could probably move Petbarn 25% off thread into the long-running deal section…

    • Yeah it's pretty standard

  • is there any instore offers?

  • Are they going bust or something? Sale every week now…

  • I'm guessing they aren't going bust but there is a financial advantage for them to hit certain targets related to revenue and volume which probably triggers rebates or some other financial advantage. Please note I'm definitely guessing here.. (I have no knowledge either way).

You also need to factor in the longer term 'marketing strategy' around building their market share and what they are willing to pay to do that (where they fund that from). Someone may have run the numbers and worked out that it's better for them to spend $500K from the marketing budget in a promo discount sale on a regular basis that builds a market base that's both short term (deal focused) and longer term (used to just buying/dealing with Petbarn).

This is in conjunction with their revamped loyalty program as well - after you've done 2-3 of these deals you build up a few more vouchers and then even if another chain has a deal you don't want to lose the vouchers you 'earned' at Petbarn

I'm definitely not complaining though as if you plan ahead you can definitely save several hundred (if not thousand) dollars a year in petfood (and other stuff) and looking at how much we have, it works out well for Petbarn as we end up buying in bulk and stockpile/store it ourselves (have perhaps $400 worth of petfood in the garage on shelves now..)
