Momondo - what am I doing wrong?

Trying to get a PER-YYZ return in July via various flight search sites.

Momondo shows me a nice bar chart at the top of the page, with bars of almost identical heights for all the departure and return dates; when I hover over these, I get "estimated prices" of about 800 AUD in each direction.

But when I actually SEARCH on these dates, the flights it comes up with are about $2400, rather than the tantalising $1600.

In addition, even though it has just searched and determined that there are no flights at those prices, the graphic is not updated to reflect this, making it essentially useless.

Is this a known "feature" of Momondo or am I just doing it wrong…

  • Nah you're not doing anything wrong, have used Momondo heaps of times and it always seems to have a much cheaper price listed on the bar graph than what is actually available. Not sure why that is though

Do the $800 fares come up with Kayak or Skyscanner as well? If so, just book via them?

    • No there are no $1600 ($800 each way) fares, and Skyscanner more-or-less correctly shows this on their calendar view.

So that feature of Momondo is worse than useless, because you can't actually distinguish genuine differences between different dates.
